example, a green belt project saved $120K per year;
. Process improvement for powder consolidation process, a new technology
is developed for saving material input in the hot iso-static pressing
process, and saved at least $0.5 million per year
. HIP (hot iso-static pressing) can design and CNC programming work for
near net shape (NNS) and CNC machine shop; new product and fixture
design for NNS;

. Justify new technologies to be used such as diamond wire saw
Assistant/Associate Professor, early promoted in 2009 and tenured in 2010
for Manufacturing Engineering Technology Program, Department of Engineering
Technology & Management, South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD.,
7/2004- 08/2011
. Setup and maintained CNC/CAM lab including inspection/quality equipment
such as CMM, gages, optical comparator, and machine tools, and designed
and directed hundreds of hands-on projects using the lab ($ 60K were
spent by me in software, materials, tools, fixture, and equipment
upgrade, one graduate student is working in this lab under my
supervision);
. Supervised at least 60 undergraduate tooling projects related to design,
tooling methods, and N/C codes generation using GibbsCAM,
Pro/Engineering or SolidWorks, and CNC machines (tolerance of most parts
were controlled in 0.010".) ;
. Supervised hundreds of undergraduate solid modeling projects using
SolidWorks;
. Taught courses in GD&T, CAD, manufacturing process, CAM/CNC, tooling
methods & measurement, production and inventory management and
advanced manufacturing management, lean manufacturing concepts and
practices were covered in most of my courses (many students became
manufacturing engineers, CNC programmer or tool designers);
. Directed graduates students in industry-based research papers related
to lean manufacturing, collaborative design environment, product data
management and supply chain management ( one graduate student became
the lead lean engineer in the local electronic company and one
student became the product support leader);
Project engineering manager, L.H.Thomson Co. (Boeing Silver Certified
Supplier and ISO9000 certified), GA, 7/2002-7/2004
. Developed new products from initial ideas, prototype, FEA analysis,
failure test, to production plan, e.g. redesigned a part with 7%
stronger and 10% lighter and won more market share in the high-end
bike market (new designs in top clamp and seat-post ensured the
company to have a total new product family with higher retail prices,
listed as Masterpiece in the webpage

less than 30 minutes; reorganized the tool inventory and determined tool
reorder points; re-layout the whole shop floor to reduce the moving cost
and WIP in 30%; designed an pneumatic automation system to reduce
machining time from 1 minute to 15 seconds for a part; and reduce the
assembly time from 2 minutes to 1 minute by redesigning the assembly
station;
