I am certified as an Underground Mine Foreman on a production shift. I have 24 years of mining experience to offer and I can operate any machinery except the miner. I am certified to operate a Double headed Fletcher Pinner with joy stick control as well as a scoop, bridge, mobile roof support and ram car. I have my underground foreman's certification, dust sampling card, and Limited Experienced Miner Training Instructor's certification. I have been in the position of Outby Belt Foreman for the last two years and worked as the section mine foreman prior to going outby. I was recently laid off and looking to relocate.

I am responsibe for two belt men and the operating condition of the belt structure inside the mines. I oversee the two belt men in making repairs to the belts, moving the belts, cleaning around the belts and any other repairs that are to be corrected concerning the belt corridor. I pre-shift the mines at scheduled intervals to ensure the working conditions are being observed and all the belt is working properly. I complete reports prior to entering the mines, as well as after the shift ends. I keep the time and attendance for the two belt men that I am responsible for. I work with the section foreman to keep the section working efficiently. I work directly with the superintendent on safety matters, personnel issues and other daily aspects of the job. I conduct safety meetings with the belt men to ensure they are aware of any new laws or regulations concerning mine safety. I attend retraining yearly for my underground miner's certification and also for my mine foreman's certification.

I had to ensure the section had proper ventilation and keep the men working within law and regulations. I had to complete reports prior to and after each shift concerning tonage, gases, etc. I had to ensure the men were following correct protocol for mining and hauling coal to the feeder. I was responsible for the time and attendance of eight employees. I worked with federal and state inspectors as necessary.
