Bookings, Revenue & COGS restatement is an annual activity taking place in

Q1 of the new fiscal year. Restatement allows the business to view the last

3 year's performance by the current year's organization and account

structure enabling year-over-year reporting for growth, discount, customer

segment, etc. For FY14 restatements, enhancements are proposed to increase

reporting capabilities by providing a consistent view of historical

bookings, revenue and COGS data.

V We give the aggregated data to the APJC (restated team) on Fiscal Week

basis for a particular Line key for 3years and for 2009 &2010 for both

Bookings (products and Services).

V The APJC team will restate the Sales Territory Key and the Sales Rep

Number based on their requirement and gives the restated data back to

EDW.

Project # 3 Data Warehouse Resource Pool (DWRP) - Performance Remediation

Team and DBA Activities (Jan 2010 - Feb 2012)

The Warehouse (The W) of Bank of America is the second largest warehouse

in the world. There are several Mainframe jobs running which consists of

Complex Teradata SQL Queries. These Queries consume lot of resources like

SUMCPU, IMPACT CPU & SUM IO.

This initiative deals with Process Improvements and enhancing the

system performance through Performance tuning activities of the CPU Heavy

hitter queries and Space reclamations and there by reduction of Overhead on

the system. It also deals with the resolution of the Help Desk Spool Space

Tickets and tickets related to the User Queries tuning.

Role: Team Lead

Responsibilities:

. Monitoring the Production system using the View Point tool.

. Keeping watch on the Heavy Hitter queries in production and work on

performance tuning of them and thereby reducing the overheard on the

Teradata Production Box.

. Space reclamation of the space more than over allocated and occupied

due to skewness.

. Working on the Help Desk Spool Space Tickets and the Tickets related

to the tuning of the User Queries.

. Query Tuning: Tuning the high CPU consumed Queries to decrease the SUM

CPU and IMPACT CPU.

. Archive Jobs Remediation.

. Collect Stats Remediation: Analyzing the Collect Stats in the

Production jobs and remediation.

. Analyzing the long running, highly Skewed and non-complaint Queries

and tuning on the same.

. DDL Conversions: Changing SET-MSET and vice versa for effective

distribution of the data.

. Utility Conversion : MLOAD-TPUMP and MLOAD-BTEQ Conversion which saves

the SUM CPU.

. Working on the migration of tables from one region to the other region

.Fast exporting the table's data to files and then loading the Files

data into the tables of other region.

Project # 2 Data Warehouse Application Management System (AMS) - (Feb

2009 - Dec 2009)

Data Warehouse Management System consists of the following:

. Channels

. Deposits

. House Holding

. Loans

. Opt-out

The loans and reconciliation system involves receiving and backing up of

files from many Bank of America Loan Systems on a daily and/or weekly, and

/or monthly basis. It transforms each feed into flat file(s) using client-

defined transformation rules within COBOL/EZPLUS programs. These flat files

are delivered and loaded into The W (Corporate Teradata Warehouse). After

the load, reconciliation is done for the load statistics. Same process is

carried out for other systems in the Data Ware House Management (Channels,

Deposits and House Holding).

Bank of America Data warehouse is one of the largest in the world, loading

approximately 300 GB of data per month. Some of the functions handled by DW

Management group include delivering the flat file(s) "AS IS" and/or loading

the flat file(s) into The 'W' according to Service Level Agreements and

providing ongoing support by resolving problems and answering questions

related to the data to the clients of the W, documenting and distributing

DWIS sub-routine (or program) names used during new development for Special

Data Warehouse (DW) Column Derivations and Common Edits and Output sub-

routines.

As a part of the 'W' team we provide,

- 24 X 7 on call support to around 450 applications comprising the entire

warehouse

- And also execute enhancement and maintenance tasks like permanent fixes

to repetitive abends, User Ad-hoc requests and so on.

Warehouse provides critical data to many downstream applications like ECRIS

(Enterprise Credit Risk Information System), Regulatory Reporting etc. The

Warehouse group has committed SLA's to the end users and the Support Team

should ensure that SLA's are always met. Apart from the regular support to

the warehouse, the team also undertakes additional activities like Disaster

Recovery, Hardware Upgrade, End of Month Activities, Manual Runs and Full

Platform Support. Utmost care is taken on archive methodology of 'The W'

Data since the data availability is crucial from the Warehouse point of

view to provide very critical reports to the business.

Role :Team Member

Responsibilities:

. Ensured smooth running of the entire system by continuous 24 x7

Support.

. Development of Teradata Utilities in Mainframe Environment.

process, tracking run times, identifying the root causes for the

delays for the applications in Production. .

necessary steps to so that these applications don't bring down the

production servers.

. Planning and Managing the application runs during planned and

unplanned outages for production servers such as Informatica Servers,

UNIX servers, database servers and coordinating for the outages to

completion and completing the applications within SLA.

. Monitoring the Production environment and sending notifications to the

respective person/team in case of server performance going down.
