PROFILE

John Petrow has been a Law Enforcement Officer for the past 11 years. He has held positions such as Road

Patrol Officer, Gang Detective, SWAT team member, and SWAT Sniper. He received his Bachelors Degree in Criminology from Florida State University and is a proud Seminoles fan. Starting in college, John’s

passion for protecting the public began as a night club security guard, continued throughout his Law Enforcement Career, and will carry with him in his future endeavors. His training, knowledge, and experience

in Law Enforcement, along with his dedication to diet exercise keeps him alert and in shape to carry out

any and all tasks in this field.

EXPERIENCE:

EXECUTIVE PROTECTION 2013-CURRENT

Bryant Security, North Miami Beach, Fl.

Experience in personal and corporate executive protection. My responsibilities in the executive protection

unit vary from one on one security for clients, to working with a team of security officers to ensure the

safety of our clients. The clientele include various celebrities, executives, and diplomats.

GANG DETECTIVE

Coral Springs Police Department. 2006-2013

As a member of the Coral Springs Police Department’s Tactical and Gang Unit (TAG) my main function

was proactive and aggressive enforcement on street crimes, street gangs, and collecting gang intelligence.

As a detective in this unit I also accomplished the following: writing search warrants, cultivated confiden-

tial informants, conducted numerous hours of moving and stationary surveillance, completed street level

narcotics investigations, executed search warrants and vehicle take downs, created and executed opera-

tional plans, assisted in buy busts, buy walks, and reverse buys with the Vice Intelligence and Narcotics

Unit (VIN), a member of a Multi Agency Gang Task Force (MAGTAF) and sworn in with The Broward

Sherif's Office as a special deputy for the task force. During my time in the TAG unit, I was designated

Officer In Charge of the 8 man unit on numerous occasions by my Sergeant.

SWAT SNIPER/ BREACHER

Coral Springs Police Department 2004-2013

I started off as an entry team member in 2004. I was sent to a Tactical Breaching Instructor course in

2006 and was one of three main breachers on the team. In 2009 I was selected to join the sniper team. I

have gone to basic and advanced sniper schools during that time. While on the team I have been involved

in the following: executed high risk search warrants, arrest warrants, and vehicle takedowns, dealt with

barricaded subjects, encountered armed subjects, hostage situations, snipers, and suicide resolutions. I

obtained instructor certifications in firearms and breaching. I have received extensive training with the Sig

Sauer P226 .40 cal and .357 cal. pistols, H&K MP-5 sub machine gun, AR-15 carbine, M4 carbine, Bolt

Action Remington Model 700 rifle, Barrett M107A1 .50 Cal. rifle and I am a certified armorer for the .50

cal. rifle.

ROAD PATROL OFFICER

Coral Springs Police Department 2002-2006

I started off my law enforcement career as a road patrol officer. I was responsible for providing public

safety, responding to emergencies, enforcing motor vehicle and criminal laws, identifying, pursuing, and

arresting suspects of criminal acts, recording facts for reports, rendering aid to accident victims, and testi-

fying in court to present evidence in criminal cases.

NIGHT CLUB SECURITY GUARD

Yanni’s night club, Tallahassee Florida

2000-2002

While attending Florida State University I held the position of security guard at Yanni’s night club. My

responsibilities were to maintain a safe atmosphere for the club patrons. I was involved in crowd control,

separating physical altercations, checking ID’s, and coordinating safety procedures for club events.
