crafts. Vendor surveillance. Work with engineering on
standard and code issues. Identify and help in solving non-
conforming work and/or work practices. Write procedures for
various work to be performed. Monitor and review all welding
procedures and welder qualifications test reports. As a Brown
& Root staff member I was responsible for the safety of the
entire project.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS I was a key player in many PHA/SRR projects, as well as major projects
such as the PCU 2X project and the Bromobutyle project. Involved in 1996
Debottleneck project, also involved in the 1998 MBPP Debottleneck
project. Involved in the FHB fluid bed conveyor project as well as the
Baytown Syngas project as well as the MBPP project work as well as the
Baytown Chemical facilities project.
As of this time I have not had any employees with first aids or recordable injuries. Completed
approximately nine years at the Baytown Chemical facility and gained the
respect and confidence of fellow co-workers as well as Exxon personnel.
Have gained experience in maintenance work as well as project work. Have
successfully worked with Exxon and Brown & Root Engineering
departments.
Obtained the American Welding Society’s Certified Welding Inspector Certification (CWI)

Title: Process Technician
Duties: Operation of a Propane Dewaxing Unit, a Lubes Deasphalting
Unit, a Specialty Development Unit and a MEK Dewaxing Unit.
In operating these Units I was to make quality rounds, Operate
valves and make necessary adjustments to the Unit so that
products stayed on test as well as operating envelopes were
maintained. Operate pumps, towers, exchangers and various other
pieces of process equipment. I was also responsible for all
equipment permitting and authorizing of mechanical work. I had
to properly lock out and tag various pieces of equipment, properly,
clear it and issue mechanical a work permit so that maintenance
and/or repairs could be completed. I also caught samples of charge
to the Units as well as the products coming off the Units. I was
responsible to trouble shoot the Units when products were off spec
or when the Units were not operating at full capacity. I was
responsible for Safety equipment audits, fire equipment audits,
house keeping and various other tasks preformed to assure that
facilities were operational and compliant with procedures and
policies. I was also qualified as a Console Operator and operated
these Units from the console, this involved monitoring Unit
operation, product specifications as well as working with outside
technicians to accomplish this as well as other task such as taking
equipment off line and or putting equipment online, participated in
molecular management meetings with varying levels of technical
and management personnel. I have TDC 3000 console/board
experience. I was responsible for safe start ups and shutdowns of
the Units. I was responsible for emergency response to fires, leaks
and other Unit emergencies.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS Completed a 3 year Department of Labor/ Bureau of Apprentice
Training Program for Process Technicians. Received qualification
on all 3 post associated with the Dewaxing 2 work group as well as
1 post qualification on the Dewaxing 1 work group. Received
qualification on the Dewaxing 2 console, which operated the PDU,
LDU, and SDU all from one console area. Was an active member
on the Work Permit Advisory Group. Played a crucial role as a
wage person during the 2006 permit consolidation effort. An active
member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.13 years without
a recordable or first aid to myself or to anyone that I worked with or
that I issued work permits too. Successfully worked a number of
turnarounds/downtimes while having responsibilities for
areas/equipment during those times. Became a respected process
technician among my peers as well as my supervisors for my unit
knowledge and work ethic, as well as my total commitment for that
of Health and Safety of myself and all that worked with or around
me.
