Attention: Human Resources Manager,
I am writing to introduce myself to you and your organization in
response to your ad for a Plant Manager. I have enclosed my resume for your
review and I am confident that I can meet / exceed the requirements for
that position. I have managed / supervised multiple plants with multiple
shift operations, simultaneously, in my 35 years in plastic manufacturing
management, operations, processes - development / implementation, training
/ coaching, tooling, equipment / facilities and maintenance.(Experienced in
Plastics Thermoforming - Heavy & Thin Gauges, Profile Extrusion, Rubber
Injection Molding in Automotive, Medical, Consumer and Industrial markets
and managing 24/7 operations with 100+ personnel at multiple sites.) I am a
"hands-on / lead by example" manager who builds organizations on the 3
pillars of a successful manufacturing operation - Safety, Quality and
Productivity. I have been involved in product design, modeling, sampling
and production as well as maintenance of equipment, buildings and tooling.
I have experience in capital equipment recommendation, purchases,
installation, set-up/start-up training and maintenance as well as budget
planning and P/L responsibility. I have renovated buildings and relocated
entire manufacturing divisions. I have experience with plant and
manufacturing layout / flow and set-up and start-up of manufacturing
facilities complete with all pneumatic, hydraulic, electric and lighting
systems required. I have been on start-up and implementation committees for
ISO 9000 and 5S programs. ( At my last job I wrote and implemented all of
the ISO 9000 Equipment Preventative Maintenance Instructions. In my current
position I am implementing a 5S program, training / coaching employees and
implementing equipment and tooling improvements which have resulted in
increased efficiencies to 145% ) I have the experience and ability to
coordinate and interface with various departments. (purchasing,
engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, quality, accounting and shipping /
warehousing) and to set goals / targets and establish Key Performance
Indicators (KPI's) to track / monitor the progress towards those goals. I
have managed / scheduled personnel, equipment, materials, tooling, quality,
maintenance and shipping / warehousing to meet customer requirements and
achieve company goals. I have experience evaluating manufacturing
processes, designing process improvements and implementing the changes
through standard operating procedures (SOP's), equipment modifications and
employee training. I apply continuous improvement techniques without
"reinventing the wheel" and use minimum inventory investment, maximum
customer service and efficient plant operations to reduce waste and
variation (lean mfg) and reach organization objectives. I believe in
teambuilding by cooperation & collaboration throughout the organization and
teach / coach employees to build a stronger, more knowledgeable workforce.
I take a proactive approach to manufacturing, safety and administrative
concerns of the company.
I am currently employed as the Operations Manager for a rubber injection
molding company in northern Ohio. (My primary responsibility is to
restructure and manage the manufacturing division and develop / implement a
process procedure driven environment with a corresponding training system.)
I am looking for a career position such as yours, where I can work and some
day retire. I have managed fast paced, high volume, thin gauge inline
thermoforming up to medium volume, heavy gauge (.400 thick production),
single station and rotary thermoforming equipment. I have also managed a
profile extruder department.(I am familiar with Brown, CAM, AAA, GMP, Lyle
and Sencorp thermoforming machines and Betol and SIMA extruders.) I have
experience with customer service, tooling design and sales. I have
experience in general machining (mills & lathes), sheet metal (shears,
punches & press brakes), welding (mig & stick) and woodworking (power saws,
shapers, routers & sanders) I can use precision measuring equipment
(micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) and read mechanical & electrical
drawings. I have a background in mechanical and electrical environments as
well as experience in work cells and assemblies.(Also fixtures and tooling
to expedite work, improve quality and aid in process efficiency)
With my vast and diverse experience, in plastic thermoforming/vacuum
forming and all associated processes (Including regrind and recycle
processes), I know I could be a positive contributor to your organization.
I look forward to meeting with you to discuss employment possibilities. If
I am given this opportunity, your organization will not be disappointed. I
can be reached at 440-***-**** Cell or *******@*********.***
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Charles N. Peyton
