Personal Statement
I am a post graduate Petroleum Engineer, with a background in Automotive
and Power Engineering. I am looking for an opportunity for professional
growth in the petroleum industry, contribute towards solving the existing
challenges and meet multiple experts working in this industry.
Education Background
2012-2013 Heriot Watt University, Msc. Petroleum Engineering
Modules include:
. Reservoir Engineering
. Drilling Engineering
. Formation Evaluation
. Petroleum Geoscience
. Production Technology
. Reservoir Simulation
. Petroleum Economics
. Well test Analysis
As a design group project, my team came up with a Field Development Plan
and Environmental Statement for an oil field in the UK. I was involved in
the Reservoir Engineering section, where I carried out Well test analysis,
analysed DST, PVT, SCAL and relative permeability data. I also generated a
field decommissioning plan which greatly developed my understanding of real
life field work and safety regulations.
My final year thesis involved using CMG software to simulate miscible CO2
injection in a high resolution 3D Carbonate outcrop analogue to optimise
production. I acquired an understanding on generating reliable production
forecasts with simulation software, complexities of carbonate reservoirs
and tertiary methods of improving production among others.
2003-2007 Kyambogo University, BEng. Automotive and Power Engineering,
Some of the core modules included:
. Production Technology
. Materials science
. Mechanics of materials
. Mechanics of fluids
. Hydraulic power systems
. Mechanics of machines
. Hoisting and handling equipment
. Instrumentation and control
. Project Management
. Mechanical Engineering and Design
. Engineering mathematics
. Communication skills and humanities
I designed a computerised fleet maintenance management program using C++,
for my final year project. I gained knowledge and skills on how to write
C++ programs as a way of improving inventory handling, acquisition and
maintenance schedule procedures in a mechanical workshop.
2000 - 2002 Katikamu Senior Secondary School, Advanced level Certificate of
Education
1997 - 2000 Maryhill High School, Ordinary level Certificate Of Education
WORK EXPERIENCE
September 2009 - August 2012: Valuation Engineer, Automobile Association of
Uganda: Worked as the valuation engineer in a four-man team where I was in
charge of inspection, assessment and valuation of motor vehicles and
machinery equipment for purposes of end of year accounts, disposal, sale,
purchase or insurance.
January 2008 - August 2009: Data Officer, and acting Transport Clerk,
Uganda Cooperative Transport Union: - Responsible for comprehensive data
management
- Prepared cost estimates of vehicle routes and driver's allowance
- Compiled vehicle performance reports on fuel usage, maintenance costs
- Ensured optimum vehicle availability
- Liaised with drivers to provide daily vehicle status updates and cargo
safety
May-December 2007: Part-time voluntary work at AKIM Business Center,
learned secretarial skills and customer care.
Semester holidays: Internship placements
I was involved in three different Internship placements throughout my
undergraduate degree, where I learned team work, and hands on skills in the
mechanical workshop.
All the above work and internship experiences involved team work,
analytical skills, flexibility, report writing, interpersonal skills,
social confidence, numerical skills, planning, commitment and hard work
which I which I gained while at these jobs.
INTERESTS
Leadership: Held various positions, to include, Vice chair person, Bible
study secretary, and outreach subcommittee member of the university
Christian union throughout my years at the University where I demonstrated
my leadership skills in planning, overseeing and organizing parties,
seminars, outings for the student body. I further developed my teamwork,
interpersonal and listening skills which are important to any workplace.

new places. During the semester breaks at University, I took part in trips
organized by the chaplaincy, that toured the Cowal Peninsula, botanical
gardens, Inveraray jail and castle, among others. These opportunities
developed my ability to work in a multicultural setting.
Skills
. Computing: Good skills in MS Word, Excel, Access, Power point. I can
work with software such as CMG (GEM), Petrel, Terra station, Pan
system, Wellflo, Eclipse, C++.
. Languages: Good command in English, fairly spoken French
. Valid driving License
