To whom it may concern,
I am a recent Bioengineering Pre-Med graduate from UCSD and worked as a night-shift lab
technician at Hunter Laboratories. I left Hunter to become a full time student to finish CLS prerequisites
and am now working as a lab assistant at Spectra Labs. I wish to expose myself to a new laboratory
environment in order to expand my experience.
At Hunter Laboratories, I worked as the main lab technician in both chemistry and hematology
departments. I ran patient and QC samples, performed calibrations, and assisted with QC validations
when needed. I am very efficient in performing my work due to my organization skil ls and ability to
multitask. I understand that accurate patient reports should be the number one priority when working in a
reference laboratory, which makes me very conscious of good laboratory practices and lab integrity. In
order to complete my work to the best of my ability, I realize that I must pursue further knowledge of not
only the machines that I maintain, but the principles and methods of the assays and tests on each machine.
A lot of my current knowledge was obtained through self-training on the Siemens and Bio-Rad websites
and demonstrating a willingness to learn to CLS peers in the workplace.
I am currently working at Spectra Laboratories as a lab assistant. I process and receive samples,
prepare specimen for testing, and assist with specimen sorting. I have worked in both analytical and pre-
analytical settings in the lab. I hope to experience a new laboratory environment in order to expose
myself to more laboratory methods to prepare myself as a future CLS.
A resume is attached to provide more details about my experiences. Thank you for
taking the time to consider me for a position in the compa ny.
Respectfully,
Eric Wong
