Renee Jones has been in long-term recovery since February 14,2000. In 2001 Renee founded Reconnection to Life Inc. Women’s Center in Birmingham, Alabama where she partnered with the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles and Mental Health Association of Alabama. Reconnection to Life is a transitional housing program for womenreturning to their community.
Renee is a nationally known speaker and author. Most recently Renee published her acclaimed book “MAMA AINT TEACH ME THAT”.
She is also a member of the Speaker's Bureau of RAINN (Rape Abuse & Incest National Network), member of Counseling and Treating People of Color, an International Perspective. She is also a member of The National Alcoholism & Addiction Institute.
Renee was the recipient of a Mental Health Association of Central Alabama award, Birmingham Resolution Award, Community Volunteer award from the city council of Birmingham, Woman of God with a Spiritual Destiny Award, and Youths of Today Leadership Program Cleveland, Ohio.
Renee holds an Associate Degree from Kaplan University in human services, and is a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant working with youth with dual diagnosis.
