Security Officer
In my former employment role as security officer, I was directly responsible for the safety of employees
and the protection of intellectual and material property. To successfully perform this role it is necessary
to know the procedures and protocol established by the company, i.e.,
• Learning new methods for security and implementing those methods .For instance, this
information was helpful in competently patrolling industrial and commercial premises to
prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensures security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Furthermore, following policies and procedures when answering alarm calls, and investigating
disturbances demonstrated my actualization of these procedures. I monitored and authorized
entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and
maintain security of premises.
• I wrote reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage,
theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
These procedures were not only necessary in competently performing the role, but also in its application
for the training of new employees of which I played an instrumental role.

Salesperson
As a salesperson, my main objective was always to give the customers a pleasant shopping experience
and offer them assistance in making their purchase.
• From the moment customers enter the store, I was there to greet them warmly and offer expert
assistance on their jewelry selections. Jewelry purchase is often a painstaking process, and I
made it a point always exercises patience with people who are not knowledgeable and are
indecisive.
• One of the greatest assets I possess in dealing with people is being a good listener. One method
I learned of maintaining this level of quality interaction is to work towards understanding their
point of view. This patience is overtly communicated to others by maintaining eye contact,
nodding and saying, "I see", or "I understand." This clarification really helps other people to
know that you are there to assist and are truly listening and not just hearing what they have to
say. Solution formation and problem resolution also involves asking the right questions to gain
more detailed insight rather than to be in an empty ploy to make a sale.
• As a salesperson, it is possible that you do not carry exactly what the customer wants. This is
when offering alternatives is highly encouraged and a practice I employ on a regular basis - not
just in the context of sales, but in all kinds of human interaction I engage myself in.
