Employed with Grant Medical Foundation, Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune in Medical

Surgical Ward and Medical surgical Intensive care unit from 20th December 2010 to

1st March 2013.

Ruby Hall Clinic is a NABH Accredited, 550 Bedded Hospital, with a Staff of 150

Consultant, 500 Panel Doctors and 1400 paramedical Staffs. Ruby Hall Clinic Has

State of the Art facilities in Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Neurology, Nuclear Science

Center, Diagnostic Centre, Intensive Care Unit, A Blood Bank and Cancer Unit. The

total Critical Care bed strength is about 120 beds CCU, ICU, NTU, Paediatric ICU,

Neonatal ICU and Cardiac Recovery.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Staff Nurse

Nursing Care in Medical-Surgical Ward & I.C.C.U

Receiving the patient to the unit.

Providing safe environment

Admission of patient according to hospital policies

Assessment of the patient.

3. Checking the vital signs

Prepare short and long term goals.

Checking the vital signs and record it correctly.

Provide basic care to the patient meeting personal hygiene, nutritional needs elimination

needs.

Administer medication, injection and treatment according to doctors order.

Maintain accurate intake and output chart.

Assist the patient to achieve self-care.

Impart health education to the patient and relatives.

Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques during care.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date record and report.

Maintain good interpersonal relationship with patient relatives, co-worker and supervisor.

Provide spiritual recreational and occupational care.

Provide active and passive exercise to the patient.

Maintain clear air way by performing tracheal and oral suctioning.

Monitor the condition of heart with the help of ECG.

Monitor the fluid electrolyte balance with the help of blood pressure, central venous

pressure, monitoring drainage level lab test and maintains adequate data of intake and

output.

Feeding seriously ill patients via nasogastric tube feeding.

Procedures related to personal hygiene like sponge bath, Mouth Care, Nail Care, Back

Care, Eye Care etc.

Procedures like catheterization, suture removal.

Administering the medication as per doctor order and observe for side effects.

Maintain proper documentation.

Prepare the patient for discharge & home care.

Performing various type of dressing suture and clip removal.

Pre and post-operative care of patient with all cardiac procedure

Take 12 leads of ECG

Assist the doctor in performing diagnostic and the therapeutic procedure like Endo

Tracheal intubation, Lumbar Puncture Pleural tapping, dressing, bone marrow aspiration,

intra costal tube insertion and drainage urinary catheterization.

Anticipation and prevention of complication, emergency and resuscitation treatment,

Oxygen therapy, General nursing care, start and maintain IV infusion.

Prepare the patient for procedure like X-rays, CT Scan, ECG, IVP, barium meal, Ultra

Sonography as ordered.

Check narcotic drugs at each shift-duty and record in the register, setting up the Crash

Cart with all emergency drugs.

Administration of medications, ECG recording, blood collection for investigation.

Demonstration knowledge of implication of nursing action.

Transfer and discharge of the patient.
