• Review project design against Deed, Engineering Drawings and G-Drawings for accuracy.
• Compare target date against number of affective owners, the impact to each property, total
scoop of work, to ensure target date is obtainable, if not discuss with the engineer to possibly
set a new target date.
• Assist project managers, engineers and the Department of Transportation (DOT) with
preliminary design of roadway, water/sewer, sidewalk and special projects
• Review appraisals and determine a “total cost” of the project and compared with targeted
budget, work with appraisal and engineer to adjust if needed to stay within budget.
• Act as liaison between the citizens of Greensboro and the city. Address any concerns they
may have and move to resolve them, which entail meeting with the engineer and discussing
changes that can be made to the design/plans to lessen the impact to the property owner and
complete the project. If a reasonable agreement with the property owner cannot be reached
the project can be held up and target date not be met.
• Track projects completion to ensure that target date will be met and present to client
department
• Negotiate monetary disputes with property owners who disagree with appraisal value, all
while trying to stay on budget and target date.
• Prepare documents for city council. These entail any property brought or sold with a value
over $15,000.00, the purchase of land for future fire and police department.
• Work with every department in the city of Greensboro to make sure projects come in on time
and under budget.
• Work with the city’s legal department on condemnations, this is a three month process and
must be considered when setting my target date.
