Exceptional Motivation
1. Around 1995, our group worked on a fixed price contract to convert one
document management system to another. This project ran into schedule
trouble and we were forced to go into a "death march", which meant
working 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 5 months. I did this
cheerfully, for the good of the project and the company, playing a key
role in the successful completion of the conversion.
2. Here is what one of my team leaders at another company said about my
work there, while awarding me a Star Performer Award, at a department
meeting:
"Shaker enjoys working on new and challenging software projects and this
proved to be a real asset for the team. Through his hard work, dedication
& long hours, he has been able to complete some very difficult and
complex software tasks -- Shaker has been able to deal with pretty much
everything we've thrown at him. Great work!"
3. In 2011, I successfully integrated a customer provided exception handler
module (developed in Power PC assembler) into a battery pack controller
software. The need for this integration and its difficulty were not
appreciated during the planning phase and this became almost a crisis. I
worked long hours to get things under control.
