Manufacturer of plastic bins, totes, containers and shelving systems for
material handling, storage and transportation industry, with annual sales
of $65 million, 3 facilities and over 350 employees.
Tooling Engineer, New and Existing Products
. Provided leadership role in multi-plant environment to maintain 1200+
molds production-ready and for creating innovative new product tooling
while coordinating with sales, marketing and manufacturing to meet
deadlines for product release.
. Collaborated with Finance Manager, General Manager, Sales Managers and
Plant Managers to meet custom project expenditures and customer
requirements. Representative projects included: Walgreens Pharmacy Bin
(cost $100k), increased sales $1.2M annually; Greg Bin (cost $75K),
increased sales $1M annually; Attainment Bin's (cost $65k), increased
sales $500K annually.
. Managed tooling process from design, material specifications, build,
assembly, sampling, rework, to final approval and production.
Collaborated with process technicians, set-up and tool-room personnel
thru weekly meetings to resolve tooling-related issues. Estimated,
quoted and submitted all capital expenditures for tooling projects
ranging from $75K to $2.5M with budget of $6M annually.

Kord-Valmark medical petri dish line from Canada to Sandusky, OH.

. Developed new mold specification documents and instituted preventative
maintenance procedures to standardize all tooling and designs to meet ISO

. Re-designed and enhanced Akro-Mils Shelf Bin and AkroBin product lines to
improve material options (PP, HDPE) and cycle time efficiencies resulting
in 15% reduction in material cost which directly increased bottom line
profits.
