Recombinant Protein Expression in E.coli

May-August 2010

. Facilitated generation and purification of plasmid DNA from wild-type and

mutant recombinant strains and verified plasmid insert via restriction

endonuclease digestion

. Research included transformation of DE3 E.coli cell line for use in

recombinant protein production and expression of recombinant proteins

using IPTG inducible T7 system as well as verification of correct

polypeptide using SDS-PAGE analysis followed by Coomassie and/or silver

staining

. Prepared frozen stabs for archiving of recombinant strains; stored in
