. Computer Repair - Approximately 2.5 years of experience working in a
computer repair store. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and
repairing computers, interacting with customers to determine their
needs and as a supplement to diagnosis, interacting with customers to
explain the reason their computer was not working properly and a step-
by-step analysis of the diagnosis and prognosis, and assisting the
customer in prevention of further issues. Also was responsible for
managing events hosted by the store (LAN parties, generally) and for
teaching internship students basic troubleshooting and diagnosis.
. Very strong mathematical background - As part of major curriculum,
took Calculus I/II/III and Differential Equations. Minor curriculum
included Linear Algebra, Game Theory, and Probability/Statistics
. Experience in assembling and characterizing scientific equipment -
Built a radio telescope from components available and proceeded to
confirm that it was working properly. This included showing (by
experiment) that the signal received was a function of the distance
from the signal generator and also a function of angle with regard to
receiver
. Public speaking- Gave multiple mid- and high-level staff,
informational, and decision briefings as part of duties in U.S. Army
ROTC. Also, gave two twenty minute lectures on spacecraft navigation
as part of physics curriculum as a senior
. 3 years U.S. Army ROTC- Approximately 20 hours a week U.S. Army
officer training. Variety of skills learned, including managing small
and large groups to accomplish tasks and working independently in
support of other operations. Also became proficient in marksmanship
skills and firearms safety
. Semi-fluent in Spanish - Several classes in both high school and
college
EXPERIENCE
Census Enumerator - Conducted interviews with various people at their homes
in the St Mary's/ Kingsland area.
Telescope Operator - Assisted professor in running NGAO Observatory. Duties
included assisting students with completing lab assignments and performing
some research with professor
Mathematics Tutor - Tutored students online in Trigonometry, Algebra I/II,
and Geometry
Short-order Cook - Was responsible for timely completion of tasks while
maintaining cleanliness
Life Guard - Supervised use of pool area and conducted some maintenance
Delivery Driver - Worked independently to deliver goods to customers.
Familiar with St. Mary's area.
Computer Technician - (current employment) Diagnose and repair computers.
Work with customers to determine problem and explain solution.
