Assumed product leadership for the $13 M per year energetic systems product line. Reporting the progress of the business to the VP/GM of the Defense business element. Managed Production to meet sales forecasts. Planned and coordinated customer visits, monitored progress of projects and sales being managed by three different program managers, driving to meet commitments to customers and to corporate leaders. Results: met or exceeded corporate sales forecasts.
Led proposal team that won a new $1.6 M development program proposal for a key contract to develop a new electronic safe and arm device for the Long Range Land Attack Projectile (LRLAP). Result: expanded product base to the next higher level assembly.
Led a team of engineers and technicians to develop and produce a prototype Semi-Active Laser seeker in three months. Overcame many technical and programmatic obstacles, integrating work across four different sites to complete this extremely tight schedule.
Won the internal ‘Race to Innovation’ competition within the entire business unit and opened up the possibility of expanding the product base.

Contributed key content to the critical presentation and proposal to win a key $2 million development contract to develop a new electronic Firing Module for the Javelin Missile. Result: contracts for development and sustaining business approaching $60M lasting for more than 5 years.
Led the investigation and solution of production issues, preventing costly reject rates or product recalls.
Led a team of engineers and technicians to develop an innovative, new design to fit within tight physical and functional constraints. Awarded patent for innovative design feature.
Worked together with Lockheed Martin as a teaming partner to communicate and clarify requirements to meet multiple customers' requirements.
Planned and executed successful qualification program to completion with tight schedules and budgets. Result: secured new business of up to $10 million in sales per year.
Led multi-site team of personnel in bringing into production a new product with a 1000 unit per month volume.
Result: Production team met challenging sales goals - $500K to $800K per month with 30% Gross Margin.
Manager/Engineer, Manufacturing & Development 1995-1997
Assisted in the establishment and management of a new business element to commercialize technologies that had previously been used within the Department of Energy nuclear weapons facility. Evaluated business opportunities. Assisted in the selection of key personnel. Developed the plan for and managed the $3.2 million program for the development, qualification, and production of a detonator for the Titan IV launch vehicle. Result: All were well informed of the status of the program and the
success won Lockheed Martin's “Supplier of the Year” Award.
Solved numerous design, production and scheduling problems to successfully complete design, development and production of a Titan IV igniter - constantly keeping the customer informed of the developments. Result: the customer was pleased with our integrity and openness, and became an effective marketeer on our behalf. Integral part of a team that established configuration management and document control and other management
systems to achieve ISO9001 certification in less than 11 months.
