EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Software Tester – Role and Responsibilities: Optial Uk Ltd January 2012 - Date

I am the company’s sole Tester and involved in testing bespoke financial and risk management applications developed by Optial for

international IT firms and global banks across Europe and the Middle -East. Being the sole Tester, the huge task of testing in its

entirety (from requirements gathering/review, test cases/scripts creation, test suite setup, test execution, through to bug tracking an d

final sign-off) rests on me. Testing is done by combining necessary tools, techniques (see Technical Skills Section) as well as

implementing OWASP and Sarbanes-Oxley principles to certify ALL developed applications fit for purpose before they get shipped

to respective clients.

As part of my duties, I sometimes delegate regression tests (based on the test scripts I had already designed) to Developers if I am

working on another large project, and ask them to give me feedback on their findings for necessary action(s) to be taken. Wit h the

appropriate SDLC in place being specified at stakeholders’ (me inclusive) meeting, I also do hold regular meetings with Developers

to discuss the progress of a project from a testing view point, and make recommendations where necessary vis -a-vis improving

software quality.

Due to the importance of my role in the company, I do take ownership of whatever project I am involved in and make sure testing is

carried out to the highest possible standard; hence Developers refer to me as a ‘Pedantic Tester’. When Developers are coding away,

and I do have spare time on me hand, I research on the latest testing techniques and tools out there, one of such researches l ed to a

meeting between me and my CEO (whom I report to), and as a result, cross -browser testing was introduced into the scheme of things

with a view to improving testing in the company, and so far so good, it has yielded positive results.

Software Tester – Role and Responsibilities: Clifford Thames Ltd August 2010 – December 2011

Worked in a team of software developers (onshore and offshore) and project managers to write test scripts, setup test suites, meet

with clients and test bespoke and in-house applications (standalone, web and client-server) for the car industry worldwide. Working

with the team saw me contribute my own quota to the successful delivery of newly developed bespoke software for SAAB Autos

before leaving. In addition, I compute testing metrics with a view to improving software quality.

Junior Test Analyst – Role and Responsibilities: VP Tech & Investment Ltd June 2008 – December 2008

Worked in a team of software testers to manually test a flight application using MS Word and Excel to write and run series of test

cases (with respect to the system’s specification), and performed automated tests on the flight appli cation using Test Director. While

working as part of a large team of software testers, I documented test results generated from the automated and manual tests and

passed them over to the Team Lead. Due to my hard work, the application was successfully test ed; its deadline met, and was

subsequently delivered to the client. Whilst working in this team, team spirit and good rapport was created amongst the team .

IT Support Staff – Role and Responsibilities: SBA Legal Services May2006 – December 2006

Installed software packages, and carried out regular updates on existing software applications. I did ensure uninterrupted internet

connectivity by tracking its connection, maintained hardware components by troubleshooting regularly, and replaced faulty one s

when necessary. The above listed duties were highly successful. My communication and self -motivation skills were developed

during my stay here, which was evident when asking departmental staffs about technical (computer) problems with a view to sol ving

them. And due to hard work, focus and commitment, all technical tasks that were assigned to me by my Manager were brilliantly

executed, which yielded desired results in turn, and got a lot of good commendations.

LANGUAGE

Conversational German

INTERESTS

I read journals, books (academic and non-academic), dace and listen to music as long as it is pleasing to the ears, but with a penchant

for Motown and Cuban, and I socialise when necessary. I also play team sports like football on a regular basis. Being creativ e is part

of me, and as result came joint-second in the finals of Student IT Innovations Awards, UK 2009. I did attend a Cyber Camp at

Shrivenham, UK between August 28 and September 1, 2013 with a view to honing my Penetration Testing skills. I am also an

Associate Member of the British Computer Society (BCS).
