ACADAMIC PROJECTS
Project 1: DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF BURNISHING TOOL
DESCRIPTION: This project describes an employing low plasticity Burnishing tool. The
LPB process can be achieved by reducing surface tensile stress necessary for getting non –
linear characteristics of the material. It produces a deep layer of compressive residual
stress with minimal cold working that improves surface finish and micro hardness of the
material. The process could be done using pneumatic actuator which can rotate the tool at
high speed by applying high pressure itself. The process is to be carried out in conventional
lathe machine.
Project2: ANALYSIS AND MODIFICATION OF BRAKE LINING MATERIAL
DEECRIPTION: This project describes analysis and modification of brake lining material .
Now a days we are using asbestos as the brake lining material instead of it we are using
metallic fibre as the brake lining material. The material is magnesium aluminium metal
matrix complex. This material has less wear, good mechanical strength and less harmful to
human beings than the asbestos.
