June 2012-Present QUALITY ENGINEER CONTRACTOR

Gardner Aerospace, Derby, DE24 8ZF, England

• Working to AS9100, responsible for inspecting Aluminium parts and prototypes for the Airbus A350 and A400M projects ensuring parts and assemblies are correct to drawings, specifications and Bill of Materials (BOM). Also some parts and FAIR’s for GKN, BAE and Euro Copter.

• Using the Visual IPI software to produce a copy of the FAIR, ballooning the drawing, filling in the required form 3 when inspecting and ensuring all paperwork has the correct stamps GRN’s and certification to fulfil forms 1 and 2 of the FAIR. Ensure the anodising, paint, heat treatment, NDT and other special processes and function tests have been performed correctly.

• Responsible for over checking FAIR’s, raising any issues with the relevant member of the team or discussing these with the Engineering Department ensuring the parts have been manufactured correctly and uploading the scanned copy of the signed off FAIR to the Airbus Supply site.

• Use of Shadowgraph, Steifelmayer and all manual inspection equipment including verniers, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, pin and slip gauges and recording results.

• Raise quality issues with management and personnel from other departments to ensure problem parts are rectified quickly and effectively.

• Raising Non Conformance Reports and DQN’s for any issues with material or processes with Airbus directly. Assisting with the production of KPI’s and SOP’s for the manufacturing and processing of parts.

• Using Gardner’s MRP / ERP system, Paragon, to check and log processes, materials and operations correctly.

• Working with project engineers on NPI for the A350 project assisting with the manufacturing processes and operations, foreseeing any potential issues and problems.

• Assisting fellow inspectors and FAIR’s Engineers with the day to day running of the project, tackling issues that occur and planning workloads so top level parts take priority. Tracking incoming and outgoing parts and the progress of internal parts.

ASSISTANT MANAGER/LEAD QUALITY INSPECTOR

• Progressed from a packing role to management position over the course of eighteen years for this Pipe Fittings and Flanges manufacturer for marine and offshore hazardous environments

• Duties included the inspection of part and finished fittings manufactured from bar, pipe and sheet metal using all manual inspection equipment

• Heading up a team of ten staff, managing warehouse operations, quality inspections and logistics to deliver outstanding service levels, in line with business targets

• Lead inspector for BAE contracts, working with international inspection agencies such as Bureau Veritas, DNV, GL, Lloyds Register and also customer inspectors to ensure fittings are produced to the highest quality and to stringent dimensional specifications and standards

• Hands on management of warehouse personnel, maximising productivity and performance through close supervision and structured training of inspectors on established systems and procedures

• Teaming up with the Warehouse Manager to complete the successful implementation of ISO9001:2008

• Overseeing Stores, Goods Inward and Outward, maintaining a clear audit trail of raw materials and fittings, and that stock is correctly segregated and allocated to production environments when needed
