Ms. Annie Grady
Xavier University
Cincinnati, OH 45207
To Whom It May Concern:
Please consider my enclosed résumé for the position. Currently, I am a graduate from Xavier
University with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts with a pre-physical therapy minor. The qualities that I
have that deem myself qualified are as follows:
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and work ethic: While working as a hostess at Red
Lobster, I was selected amongst 10 other hostesses to be promoted to a serving
position. This position requires much more responsibility and I excelled quite well given
these extra duties. Similarly, I was promoted to a bartending position from a server
while working at Gameworks. There are 3 weeks of training and a bar license that must
be obtained for this position, but I finished the training in only 2 weeks. Working as a
chiropractic assistant gave me the opportunity to be in a hands-on medical environment
where I was able to apply what I had learned in the physical therapy classes I took at
Xavier.
• Demonstrate leadership and teamwork: After gaining leadership experience as a
team captain on the high school softball team, I applied that notion of commitment and
teamwork to the Xavier Club Gymnastics team, where I participated for a year. I also
gained more practice working together with others as a part of the Student Alumni
Association for a year and a half, where we had to work as a group to make important
decisions. Outside of school, my leadership skills have been recognized in the
workplace when I was encouraged to take a bartending position, which includes much
more responsibility and guidance to others.
• Great ability to think logically but also innovatively: As part of a well-rounded
education, Xavier requires we take the typical classes such as history, math and a
science, but unlike many others, we are also required to take philosophy and a social
science. Along with these demanding requirements, I have taken three full years of a
difficult science course, seven psychology and/or sociology classes, and three classes
of upper level French. This vast contrast between subjects has really given me the
ability to think very analytically and rationally, but also resourcefully.
Please consider placing me for this position as an opportunity to contribute to an outstanding
company in a position that I am interested in, as well as knowledgeable about. Thank you in
advance for your consideration. Should you have any questions I can answer, please feel free
to contact me at 513-***-****.
Sincerely,
Annie Grady
