Responsible for the Business Office with 14 employees, Medical Records
with 6 employees, Information Technology with 4 employees, Materials
Management with 2 employees, an Accounts Payable clerk and a Financial
Analyst. Responsible for the revenue coming in, the payments going
out and the financial statements that were presented to the board.
Organized the audit and cost report process. Working on learning the
ins and outs of the cost report for a Critical Access Hospital.
Financial Analyst, January 2003-October 2010
Returned to work after a five month absence to complete Bachelor's
degree. Worked in the Business Office, wrote up deposits and followed
up on patient accounts. Posted deposits, billed secondary accounts,
kept a Bad Debts file manually on Excel. Started the Safety Committee
and worked on trying to ready our facility for Joint Commission.
Moved to Accounts Payable position in 2005 but still helped out in the
Business Office with bad debts, statements and collection accounts.
In April 2008, added accounting duties. Started working with the
financial statements, payroll taxes, bank accounts and still continued
doing the Accounts Payable job.
Director of Materials Management, 1997-2003
Given a new title but job did not change under new management. In
charge of ordering, distribution, payment and accounting for supplies
of a small rural hospital and 132 bed Nursing Home. Used Purchase
Orders, signed for supplies, distributed to departments, reported the
numbers monthly to administration, logged accounts payable, mailed
payments and maintained vendor and A/P files. Maintained purchased
equipment info, repairs on equipment, maintenance contracts and did
yearly inventory of equipment and supplies.
Central Supply Clerk, 1986-1997
In February of 1986, moved to Accounts Payable and Human Resource
department to fill in while Manager of that department took a leave of
absence. Promoted to A/P position and eventually moved to Central
Supply Department to learn process.
Administrative Secretary, 1985-1986
Hired on a trial basis in November 1985 but was hired full time
December 4, 1985 as Administrative Secretary. Answered phones,
scheduled appointments and opened mail for CEO. Helped in another
office while an employee was out, it became a permanent transfer.
