Repair conveyors, replace motors, belts, pulleys,and bearings. Fabricate stairs, handrails,

ladders, catwalks, chutes and slides. Would have to modify and improve equipment for

increased production. Responsible for purchasing materials and parts for repairs and new

fabrications. Repair Hydraulic and Pnuematic systems, sensors and switches. Do

whatever is needed to keep the plants running smoothly with no down time.

Position Ironworker/welder Miscellanious

Welded 6"x 8" steel tube on the 7th and 8 th floors. Welded stairs and handrail on 1st

thru 4th floors. All welds done using 232 wire 3/8" verticle up fillet welds, that were

checked by welding inspecter.

Position: Welder/ fabricator Machinist

Responsible for fabricating everything that engineering would give me the drawings for.

That would be anything from a stainless steel airplane exhaust system that would be Tig

welded. The next day it would be a 6' diameter brass ship propeller that I would have to

build up with brazing rod and then turn down on a lathe. Using 232 flux core, weld bridge

trusses with full penetration and a ceramic backing. Tig weld Aluminum frames for the fire

dept. Mig weld aluminum pipe for an auditorium. Mig weld stainless steel pipe systems for

the city of Watsonville water treatment plant.

Position: Welder/fabricator Millwright fabricate from blueprints stainless steel food

processing

machinery and equipment. I would get a job packett from engineering then go over the

entire set of drawings, make cut lists,pull all of the steel off the racks, and get all of the

hardware together.

Depending on the type of system i was building, I would get all of the sheet metal and lay

it out, then form it on the brake press and punch holes, and cut anything that needed to be

cut with a plasma. Cut all of the square tube and angle iron and deburr everything. Tack

weld everything together. Back bend anything that would pull too far after being welded.

Tack weld stiffners everywhere needed, check everything for squareness, check all

dimensions, angles, and holes.

Weld everthing with a mig and tig. Weld flanges to pipe, weld pipe to tanks,and then weld

tanks together corner to corner, using a very hot and fast pass on the outside corners,

burning all the way through.Then use a tig and fuse the inside of the corners. Grind all

outside corners flush.

After I was done with all the welding I would get all of the bearings, pulleys, uhmw, and

assemble it all together have it inspected, take it apart, take it out to sand blast. After

everything was completed I would go with the equipment and install it.

I would fabricate a wide variety of equipment from 16 gauge S.S. flumes to 1/4" thick

diamond plate bin dumpers with 1" thick S.S. Plate to mount the hydraulic rams to. The

next job might be stairs, hand rails, and platforms or maybe a produce shaker, and a

elevator. All welds had to be excellent quality with no porosity,craters, under cut or spatter,

and smooth to the touch.

Position: Welder Ironworker, Fabricate steel parts for earth quake retro fits, and weld

them in place with 232 wire and 7018 rod at Good Samaritan Hospital. When that job was

finished I worked at the National Semi Conduandctor building Welding structual and doing

stairs and handrail, and built and welded in place a 100' long x 20' awning that goes

across the front of the building.
