Professional Qualifications
I am a Project Controls Specialist with over 30 years’ experience in the Planning and Cost Control for nuclear, large industrial petrochemical and mining projects. I have extensive knowledge of scheduling techniques using state-of-the-art tools and systems. My vast experience includes very small projects $2 million (Rolls Royce Gas Turbine Engine) to the very large $10 billion (Syncrude Tar Sands Upgrade)
I specialize in creating EPCC (engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning through to start –up) schedules, to determine project critical path. Then adding resources to the schedule for manpower planning, histograms and using these to produce progress measurement curves for earned vs. actual percentage complete analysis. This is done with the use of software tools such as Primavera (P6) and in house systems like Convero, PMPlus, Shawtrac or other company equivalents.
I have worked as the lone planner / scheduler on small projects to teams of up to 30 or more planners / schedulers on the largest of projects.
I work in the home office engineering office as well as on site field office.

The following is a summary of key projects:
Lead Project scheduler, Victor Diamond Mine, DeBeers, Northern Ontario, Canada, 04/2005 - 12/2006
Build a diamond mine at a greenfield site in Northern Ontario. The project consisted of mine development and construction of a processing plant and facilities and infrastructure to support the project and then the operation of the plant in the remote location
Accomplishments:
Creation of EPCC schedules and implementation of progress measurement.
Other Comments:
The major challenge on this job was getting the equipment on order and to site. Due to the remote location the only land access was during a 3 month period from January to March of each year when an ice road could be built and heavy loads could be transported to site. This called for very intricate scheduling in order to deal with the demanding logistics of this job.
