To whom it may concern,

Mr Luca Massari undertook part of his exchange under the 'Leonardo da Vinci'

programme in the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at

Plymouth University. He undertook four and a half weeks with me in late

August/early September 2013 in the research centre for Earth Sciences . His

contribution took the form of extracting fluvial geomorphic data from a digital

elevation model using the programme RiverTools and subsequently processing

presenting results of these data in Excel and using ArcGIS. Luca undertook

these tasks with minimal guidance and performed extremely well given the

short timescale for the programme of work. I was very pleased overall with his

data acquisition and the results gained from this work.
