Project Title: Enterprise Technology and Delivery (ET&D)
Tools Used: CA-1, NDM, IMS, CICS Web GUI, SA/390, HMC, SAR, Omega-Mon, SMF, VTS, TEP, Peregrine,
VM Systems.
Description: Performing System operations and maintenance functions on about 90 LPAR's. Which includes
48 production LPAR's and 42 Test and development LPAR's. Monitoring the system for any exceptions, Level
1 and Level 2 trouble shooting on the encountered exceptions, escalating the unresolved issues to Level3
and Engineering teams. Performing Shutdown and IPL of production and Test LPAR's every Sunday during
System Outage window.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Monitors and guarantees connectivity of LPARS on the SYSPLEX for the availability of data on both storage.
Escalation and notification of problem (Sev-1) in the environment to senior management
Working with JES2 and JES3 commands
Experience on POR, SAD, Activate, Deactivate, Processor weight change through HMC
System Shutdown and IPL via console, VM system, ABACIS system
Perform IMS health check for exceptions
Perform SVLS testing and sending report
System monitoring via TBSM, MQ TEP, PROD TEP, DEV TEP tools
Monitor SPOOL utilization and follow the defined procedure to resolve it.
Monitor IMS system for Message queuing, Stop/Start transaction.
Work with different support groups to resolve day to day issues and make sure appropriate action is taken
within defined SLA
Prioritize the batch job, changing the service class of the critical production jobs on approval request.
Performing CICS New copy, Acquire/Release connections.
SVC dumps of the jobs on request.
Experience on SA/390, Task recycle, Set Auto flag ON/OFF
Working and monitoring the System health Via Omegamon.
Coordinating and scheduling all Mainframe hardware/software activities or changes on the weekends
Provide and maintain required operating training and procedure documents
Responsible for documenting all Operator Mainframe Functions to Support of Global OPS model training
Participate in all Firm Disaster Recovery drills.
