PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
DRAFTER/DESIGNER, Case Corporation, Burr Ridge Illinois. 3/06 to
Present
Designed and released Pneumatic Down Pressure system for All Ag
Planters Using Pro Engineer.
This involved air spring design, pressure and force analysis,
and tubing and fitting design.
Also required was creating structural components (castings,
weldments, etc) to accommodate
The new design for upper and lower air spring brackets.
Designed and released Updates to the Bulk Fill system for large Ag
planters Using Pro Engineer
Created design that replaced seed hoses with tubing for a
cleaner more aesthetically pleasing
Design that involved rerouting hoses, creating tubing lengths,
and designing brackets to accommodate
The new seed tube and seed hose routings. Also worked on
designing swing arm for routing hoses
When the planter is folded. Worked on new hose routings and
clamps to accommodate the new swing arm design.
Designed and released complete Hydraulic System for large Ag Planters
(4 models) using Pro Engineer
Designed steel hydraulic tubes to replace hoses in key areas on
4 models of large Ag Planters which
Involved designing tubes for the main lift and fold valve,
marker valve, draft tubes, and inner wings.
All tubes, hoses, and fittings were converted to O ring Face
Seal configuration from 37 degree flare.
Currently working on new PL18 Row Unit project to be released in 2015.
Designed upper and lower linkages, upper and lower air spring
brackets, new air spring, air lift package,
Hydraulic Down Pressure package, Hydraulic Lift system all
components are designed to accommodate
A 16in travel range and required design of castings, weldments,
and fabricated parts. Pressure and force
Analysis was required for the design of the new air spring. Also
mentored colleagues on the use of Pro
Piping.
Received US Patent No. 7,530,779 B2 May 12, 2009.
DRAFTER/DESIGNER, General Dynamics, Muskegon Michigan. 3/05 to 3/06
Designed and detailed parts and assemblies for the AMGV
project, which included Cooling system
Modules, Wheel Cooler assemblies, valves and manifolds, and hose
routings using Pro Engineer.
DRAFTER/DESIGNER, Case Corporation, Burr Ridge Illinois. 9/99 to
3/06
Designed and detailed parts and assemblies for the 1200
series planter transmission which included complex
surfacing for plastic injection molded parts, design of
sprocket clusters, idlers, and shafts. Also did assembly
and information drawings for all parts released. Worked on
the L405-L755 Front End Loader project designing
complex sheet metal brackets to accommodate control valve
and self level valve mounting. This
design also involved routing pipelines, hoses and creating
weldments.
Designed and detailed drawings for the new compact loader
line which includes 10 models 10LA-18LA front end loaders. Worked as
lead designer on these projects. Also wrote spec releases and supervised 2
draftsmen. These projects included structure, rubber part and hydraulic
system design. Currently working as Current Product Manager on the next
generation of compact front end loader models 10LB-18LB.
DRAFTER/DESIGNER, Volvo Truck NA, 1/99 to 9/99
Designed and detailed parts and assemblies for the VN
mufflers, pipes, and structure. Designed and drafted
parts and assemblies for the VN battery box. Also worked on
the horizontal exhaust with vertical tail for the
2235 project. This involved modifying existing parts and
designing new parts as required to accommodate the
the exhaust isolation system. Also worked on various tags
which required drawing revisions. All design and
drafting was done on Pro/Engineer.
DRAFTER/DESIGNER, Case Corporation, Burr Ridge, IL 9/96 to 1/99
Designed and detailed parts and assemblies for the MX11 series small
tractor project. Worked mainly on engine design for six different
tractor sizes dealing with castings, sheet metal parts, and dipsticks.
Also worked on fuel tanks for both MX11 cab and straddle tractors.
These projects involved the design of plastic parts requiring complex
surfaces and sheet metal supports. Completed revisions plastic parts
for the grill, and installation drawings for all parts designed. All
work was done on Pro/Engineer.
DRAFTER/DESIGNER, John Deere Ottumwa Works, IL 8/95 to 9/96
Designed and detailed parts and assemblies for the large rectangular
baler project, and for the pickup on the
intermediate size rectangular baler. Pickup center support design was
patented by John Deere. All work was
completed on Pro/Engineer.
DRAFTER/DESIGNER, J.I. Case Company, Fargo ND, 1/93 to 8/95
Designed control console parts and assemblies for the FT 260
articulated four-wheel-drive tractor project.
Also designed the manual shifter, ROP'S post covers, rear
pedestal plastic parts, the headliner and interior
sheet metal structure, using Pro/Engineer. Designed and drafted
shifter assemblies and weldments for the
CBU150 combine and cotton picker project. Also involved in
design and drafting of interior plastic parts as
well as front and rear head liners. All CBU 150 modeling done on
CATIA.
GENERAL DRAFTER, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group, Everett, WA, 3/91
to 1/93
777-200 Program-main landing gear. Designed and drafted pins,
bushings, and rollers for uplock assembly,
drag strut and side strut spindle assemblies, and actuator attachment
fittings for outer cylinder, Designed and
drafted and drafted pins and fitting assemblies used throughout the
main landing gear. Altogether 40 datasets
were released which included surfaces, solids, and heavy use of
geometric dimensioning and tolerancing all on CATIA.
747-400 Freighter Program. Designed and drafted framework and fittings
for SEC46 main deck linings.
Included in this task was the design and drafting of outboard rails
and hat sections which implemented
heavy use of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Designed and
drafted ceiling and dectec panels
also for SEC46. All of the above tasks required surface and solid
creation on CATIA for the 93 datasets
released.
DESIGNER/DRAFTER, Petro-Steel, Corsica, SD, 3/90 to 2/91
Designed and drafted various sized tanks and fifth-wheel assemblies
for trailers used mainly in
