Honors and Achievements
Air Assault School: This is a school in the United States Army that qualifies soldiers to conduct
airmobile and air assault helicopter operations which include: sling load operations, rappelling
techniques, and fast-rope techniques. The school is 10 days long of rigorous and fast-paced
training. Solders who demonstrate an outstanding effort in their unit and a high physical fitness
score are sent to this school. An average of 2-5 soldiers are sent every year per every National
Guard unit.
Army Achievement Award: Soldiers who excel throughout Army Basic Combat Training in
physical excellence earn this award for scoring a perfect score on the Army Physical Fitness Test.
Stripes for Skills Promotion: This is a test in the National Guard that requires soldiers to conduct
multiple military tasks such as drill and ceremony, passing a physical fitness test, and retaining
military knowledge. Upon competition of this exam, soldiers are promoted from the pay
grade/rank of E-1 to E-2.
Employee of the Month: In January 2012 and May 2012 I earned the employee of the month
award when I worked at Culvers Restaurant. I was awarded these awards on two separate
occasions for displaying hard work and for receiving multiple outstanding reviews from the
managing staff.
Shift Leader at Culvers: I was promoted to shift leader of the kitchen at Culvers in July 2012
after receiving two employee of the month awards. I was promoted to shift leader after seven
months of employment while in high school.

Volunteer Experience
Honor Flight Chicago (July 2012-Present)
This is a very unique volunteer experience offered in the National Guard. Honor Flight Chicago
is a program that welcomes home veterans who are returning from their yearly trip to
Washington D.C. The program includes members of all military services welcoming home
veterans by saluting them and assisting them by pushing their wheel chair through a parade
organized by O’Hare International Airport and delivering them to their respective family
members.
Gail Borden Library Volunteer (August 2010-December 2011)
I volunteered at my local library helping return books to their respective shelves and by assisting
patrons in the library. I also helped in the daycare area by reading to young children and helping
