I have been a Clinical Social Worker since 1981. I have excellent
clinical skills including diagnosis, treatment planning and therapy skills.
I am very experienced in program management and program development. I
teach and have developed a variety of life skills classes to include Covey
Seven Habits Programs, Facilitator skills classes and marriage and teen
programs. I have excellent facilitation, presentation organizational and

. Mental health practice specializing in marital and family therapy
and treating individuals with depression and anxiety disorders.
Clinical expertise includes PTSD, Traumatic Brain injury (mild), Pre
and post deployment issues. Work with adults, adolescents and
children.

In addition to being a therapist I teach various workshops and

and military bases.

Family Advocacy Specialist: Army Community Service, Fort Carson, CO
January 1997 - August 1998
. I was responsible for developing and teaching a variety of life
skills and psycho-educational classes for military members and their
families. Classes include Living With 10-15 Year Olds,
Strengthening Step-Families, PREP: Relationship Enhancement, The
Seven Habits of Highly Effective People/Families, Deployment Support
Groups and a number of other classes.

families. Responsibilities also included liaison with a number of
on-base and civilian agencies.

. As Outreach Manager for the Family Advocacy Program, my
responsibilities included the development and management of all FAP
prevention programs.
. I developed and taught a variety of life skills classes including
Family Life Skills, Parenting Programs, Couples Groups, Stress
Management, Time Management, New Parent Support Program and a
variety of other programs.
. I provided individual, marital and group counseling for military
members and their families. During nine-month gap of Family
Advocacy Officer billet, I served as acting Exceptional Family
Member Program Manager.
. Additional duties included liaison with military and civilian
agencies both on and off base.
Social Worker: Navy Family Service Center, Yokosuka, Japan
April 1991 - April 1992:
My responsibilities included providing individual, marital, family and
group therapy for active duty military and their family members, crisis
intervention, diagnostic assessment and treatment planning. I was also
responsible for program development and taught a number of life-skill
classes including parenting skills, self-esteem, stress management, inter-
cultural relations and a variety of other classes. I provided liaison with
on base agencies and served as a consultant to a Japanese Psychiatric
hospital.
Social Worker: Navy Hospital, Yokosuka, Japan
April 1990 - April 1991:
I worked in the Family Advocacy Program providing individual, marital,
family and group therapy to high-risk family advocacy clients.
Responsibilities included diagnostic assessment and treatment planning and
crisis intervention. Responsibilities also included medical social work
duties and home visits. I developed and taught numerous life skill classes
and worked closely with on base agencies such as Child and Youth Services
and the Family Service Center.
Case Management Supervisor: Naval Consolidated Brig, Miramar Naval Air
Station, San Diego, CA
August 1989 - April 1990:
Responsible for daily management of discharge housing unit at a Navy
correctional facility. Supervised a staff of military and civilian
counselors, correctional treatment specialists and quarter's supervisors.
Conducted psychological evaluations and treatment plans for all newly
assigned inmates. Developed intensive treatment program for sex offenders.
Coordinated preparation of parole and clemency packages. Instrumental in
start-up of new unit, developed operating procedures and staff training
manual.
Social Worker: Navy Family Service Center, Miramar Naval Air Station, San
Diego, CA
March 1989 - August 1990:
Provided individual, family and group therapy for Navy personnel and their
families. Conducted assessments and treatment plans. Developed and
presented classes and workshops for customers and staff. Provided liaison
with military and civilian collateral agencies.
Clinical Director: Navy Family Service Center, Rota, Spain
September 1987 - March 1989:
Managed the counseling program at Navy Family Service Center.
Responsibilities included budget preparation, staff supervision and program
development. Provided individual, family and group therapy for Navy
members and their families. Developed programs and taught a number of life
skill classes. Maintained clinical case records and correspondence.
Worked closely with overseas Department of Defense Dependent Schools
presenting classes and groups for students and staff development.
Director, Social Work Services: Navy Hospital, Rota, Spain
May 1986 - September 1987:
As Director of Social Work services I was responsible for the clinical and
administrative management for the Social Work department. Duties included
providing therapeutic services for active duty military members and their
families, case management, maintaining clinical records, correspondence,
liaison with collateral agencies, implementation of the Family Advocacy
Program and medical social work services. I
Supervised clinical and administrative staff. Administered annual budget
for department. Developed "safe haven" emergency shelter program and
trained and supervised volunteers to work within that program.
Social Worker: Navy Hospital, Bremerton, Washington
May 1985 - May 1986:
Responsibilities included providing individual, family and group therapy
to clients involved in the Family Advocacy Program. Provided on-going
counseling services and crisis intervention. Responsible for diagnostic
assessment, treatment planning and program development for the FAP. As
medical social worker, was involved in discharge planning and other
medically related services
Social Worker: McChord Air Force Base, Washington
March 1984 - May 1985
Provided clinical services for clients with substance abuse problems.
Duties included diagnostic assessment and individual, family and group
therapy services. Developed comprehensive treatment program for adult
family members and children. Collateral duties included Chief Equal
Employment Opportunity (EEO) for the base.
Work experience previous to Civil Service career was primarily in child and
family clinical services in mental health centers in Washington.
