Business Experience:
Group Vice President, Marketing/New Business Development
Western Forms Group
10/12 - current
Recruited to rebrand 55+ year old company and develop strategic planning
and marketing communications plans for four operating companies within the
WG Group - two domestic units and two international units. Western Forms
is the world's leading manufacturer of aluminum handset concrete forming
systems for cast-in-place construction of homes and commercial buildings.
Structura Technologies is an end-to-end services provider of design,
construction, project management and related building systems and products
for the construction of affordable housing communities in more than 40

Sr. Vice President, Marketing/New Business Development, The Lewer Companies
09/09 - 10/12
Lewer is a managing general underwriter and national employee benefits
consultant; LewerMark International Student Insurance, a provider of
medical and health plans for international students studying in the USA and
domestic students studying abroad; Lewer Financial Advisors, a registered
investment advisory and wealth management firm; and Lewer Life Insurance, a
reinsurer and direct writer of life insurance products for the worksite.
Total P&L responsibilities included all strategic planning and marketing
development activities along with distribution and sales force management
across all business units.
Principal. SmartMark Public Communications
9/99 - current
Established a marketing, public relations and management consulting firm to
serve a select group of high profile clients and senior level management in
business strategy, media relations, strategic planning and overall public
communications development and implementation. We have worked in a number
of critical corporate areas -- financial and investor relations, product
design and launch, merger and acquisitions counseling and crisis
communications -- for Fortune 100 companies to dotcom startups.
Managing Director. Geoff Howe & Associates, Ltd.
7/98 - 7/99
Conceived, structured and staffed a full-service Kansas City office for
this London-based advertising and sales promotion agency to present, win
and service an international client headquartered in Topeka, KS. Armed with
a simple business plan and the London synergy provided by GHA's European
work on the account, we put a team (14 creative and account service people)
in place to win the business and implement the veterinary marketing plans
of Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of
prescription pet food, a division of the Colgate-Palmolive Company.
Director - New Business Development. Valentine-Radford/revolution
7/96 - 7/98
Developed revolution, a graphic design boutique and subsidiary of VR
Communications, into a full-service marketing and advertising firm. After
analyzing the company and writing a new business development and marketing
plan to re-position the company with new capabilities and personnel, we
were able to win several new, high-profile, full-service clients. The firm
grew rapidly, more than tripling its staff to over 30 people to service
clients such as Wal-Mart, Hill's Pet Nutrition, Farmland Industries and
Nellcor Puritan Bennett among others. In March 1999, helped the firm
complete a leveraged buyout from VR Communications.
Executive Vice President -- Marketing and Sales. Access Industries, Inc.
11/83 - 7/95
Director of Marketing. American Stair-Glide Corp/Access Industries, Inc.
9/78 - 10/83
As EVP my responsibilities encompassed all strategic planning, corporate
communications efforts, marketing, public relations, new product
development, domestic and international sales activities and retail sales
development, as well as technology licensing and product/new business
acquisition activities on a global level.
As part of a three-member operating committee with the President and Chief
Financial Officer, and as a direct result of the planning, promotion,
products and distribution methods implemented under my direction, company
sales grew on a global basis from slightly more than $3 million to nearly
$50 million, taking a position of industry leadership.
