PERSONAL PROFILE
I am a goal-orientated individual with a passion to learn new things and
adapt to changing environments. My current employment at ASDA has allowed
me to communicate with customers in a polite, friendly and confident manner
which has given me confidence and clarity in delivering presentations at
university. The customer service skills and time management attained has
allowed me to work and study at the same time and ensure I deliver good
results in both aspects of my daily life. I can work well both
independently and as a team member in a fast paced and pressured
environment. My drive to enhance my personal development and qualities
constantly motivates me every day and can also provide a source of
motivation for others around me.
Achievements
I have completed the Manchester Access Programme which provided entry to
the University of Manchester on scholarship. Through completing numerous
activities, I have acquired a range of skills such as team working, problem
solving, leadership and advanced presentation skills. I have also gained a
silver award in the prestigious Manchester Leadership Programme by
completing 40 hours of voluntary work at "Hyde community Action Group", a
community led charity which seeks to improve general well being and quality
of life of local residents. I took lead in the organising and management of
a number of projects such as drama workshops in local schools to address
issues such as racism and photography training sessions for local teenagers
to benefit from.
iNTERESTS/Hobbies
I enjoy playing sports such as football and basketball and partaking in
adventurous activities such as rock climbing, water sports, mountain biking
and camping. I enjoy reading and keeping up to date with current affairs
particularly in humanitarian issues. I regularly socialise with friends and
family and like meeting new people. I have spent two weeks in Marrakech,
Morocco, volunteering at orphanages and schools, delivering painting
projects and teaching basic English, all of which has further developed my
people skills.
