CCR / Power IT Petoskey, MI
. Level 3 Network Technician / Administrator, (07/13-12/13) Power
IT is a Managed Service Provider for Northern Michigan primarily
supporting businesses related to the medical field.CCR, the
parent company is a Managed Service and Application Provider
leveraging Citrix XenApp for remote application and environment
deployments. My responsibilities included everything from
cabling, networking, break / fix support, medical software
support, server support and monthly maintenance to large scale
project implementations and virtualized environment conversions.
Power IT was acquired by CCR in early 2013 and hired new
technicians. CCR is located in Troy Michigan and Power IT is based
out of Petoskey Michigan and has a secondary location in Traverse
City Michigan. I was hired to service Traverse City, Lake City and
Grayling but found myself traveling to Petoskey and North of
Petoskey 3-4 days a week on average. I was averaging nearly 2400
miles per month, most of which was non-reimbursable. I was informed
this was not changing for the foreseeable future and am now looking
for work with a shorter travel radius or office based.
Nuspire Networks Commerce, MI
. Level 3 Technician / System & Server Administrator, (03/10-
02/13) Nuspire provides managed security worldwide to help
customers meet HIPAA, SOX and PCI Compliance standards. Nuspire
hosts its own data center with over 20 physical and 50 virtual
servers in a mixed Microsoft and Linux environment. I started as
a level 3 technician working with 30 technicians in a tiered
technical structure. My primary responsibilities where to
oversee deployment of network security devices and work on
escalated technical issues. After 1 year I left the network
engineering team to lead in house systems architecture and
administration. My primary responsibility was network,
hardware, OS and software upgrades to the then current available
version with a goal of 4 years maintenance and administration
only after implementation.
During my employment at Nuspire I redesigned the internal and
external network while providing a solid upgrade path for systems
and services including hardware consolidation with virtualization.
I created failover and redundancy by utilizing VMware High
Availability, virtual storage pools and SAN's. I eliminated the
need for additional power and UPS devices by consolidating
hardware, creating virtual pools and automatically powering down
servers during off peak hours. I utilized an existing Kaseya
license for server management including update management, setup
WSUS for workstation update management, OpenManage SA for hardware
monitoring, Quest Foglight for overall network management with
switch and VLAN monitoring / mapping, Setup Windows Print and Fax
server to manage fax and print permissions / jobs / printer health,
Setup Sharepoint site with Project server for project management /
company updates, Setup a MintDNS server to provide free dynamic DNS
updates to our customers with dynamic addresses and brought the
domain functional level from 2000 to 2008 R2 while upgrading
Exchange, SQL and IIS from 2003 to 2008 & 2010 versions.
PC Miracles INC. Clarkston, MI
. Level 3 Technician / System & Server Administrator, (10/07-
03/10) PC Miracles is a Michigan Tri-County (Oakland, Macomb &
Wayne) based Managed Service Provider with break fix non-managed
support. My role as a level 3 Technician at PC Miracles included
daily and weekly objectives while assisting lower level
technicians. Job responsibilities included Kaseya management
serving as the master administrator, network installations
including cabling, switching and edge devices, onsite
maintenance and offsite remote support, system and server
administration, management of my work schedule, and customer
project management. I also provided installation and support of
proprietary software. As a Dell, Linksys / Cisco, Fortinet and
Sonicwall authorized reseller I was able to gain additional
support access and experience from a wide product range.
During my employment at PC Miracles I created the standards on how
customers are managed in Kaseya. I contributed dozens of scripts to
automate job responsibilities and routine IT related tasks, both in
Kaseya and custom scripts. I designed, tested and implemented the
offsite data backup architecture that is used for clients which saved
PC Miracles thousands per customer annually with increased
reliability.
Tamaroff / Jeffrey Motors Roseville, MI
. System & Server Administrator, (10/07-03/10) Managed over 200
users and 10 servers at 2 locations. I created a solution that
increased network speed by up to 10x and simultaneously reduced
network cost by $1,500 per month while adding increased control
and visibility over the network. I implemented a Peplink load
balancer with two 10mb cable connections and an MPLS network for
site to site communication. Each location was outfitted with a
Sonicwall firewall, Cisco switches with NetFlow and Sonicwall
Viewpoint for network monitoring.
Acclaim Legal Services Southfield, MI
. System & Server Administrator, (10/07-03/10) Managed 30 users at
4 locations. I contributed the solution needed to setup 3 remote

seamless experience when at the remote locations.
