Title: Partnership Specialist Monterey / San Benito County
January 2009 to September 2010
Duties: Outreach & Publicity to educate and promote the 2010 United States Census in Monterey
and San Benito County. Work in collaboration with United States Representatives and
Assemblymen, City Council Members, Board of Supervisors to promote the US Census within the
Hispanic and Migrant Communities. Work with Schools, city councils, agencies California Rural
legal Assistance (CRLA), Hospitals, Clinics (CSVS), Unions United Farm Workers (UFW),
Teamsters Union, Labor Council of Monterey Bay, libraries and local Hispanic businesses. Ensure
everyone is counted by hosting meeting in schools, cities and labor areas. Work with Agriculture
contractors and labor companies to help promote and educate the Hispanic community on the
United States Department of Commerce / US Census.

community groups, telling the workers about the risks of the pesticides that they are exposed to and

Central Coast Citizenship Project
Title: South Monterey County Project Director
1996 to August 1999

Duties: Outreach & Leadership responsibility for citizenship support services throughout South
Monterey County, San Benito, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz. I worked closely with community-based
service providers and other leaders to provide citizenship support services to over 2,000 applicants
in the South County region. I planned and coordinated citizenship events, which often involved
more than 50 volunteers and 500 applicants; I conducted public information campaigns, recruited,
trained and supervised volunteers, and provided paralegal and other follow- up services. Recruited
more than 300 students for citizenship classes. Prepared and filed statistical reports on applications
and other services. Organized immigrant rights committees in South Monterey County, also created
community advisory committees.
Southwest Voter Registration Project
Title: South Monterey County Coordinator
Duties: Outreach and Coordinated non-partisan political campaign for voter registration during the
election period. Recruited and supervised 147 volunteer and 4 co-workers in this effort. Conducted
education, and worked with community members in publicity, presentation, and walking door-to-
door, motivating people to go out and vote, agencies, school, churches, media, private companies
etc. Some of these projects were in collaboration with the Citizenship Project and Southwest Voters.
Health Start, Even Start Program _Greenfield Union School District

Duties: Worked with needy families to help them obtain access to health care, counseling, general,
education in ESL, GED, citizenship classes, recruit and involve parents in community activities.
Worked as a liaison to local and State agencies to facilitate their services to this community.
Monterey Bay Girl Scouts

Duties: Educational activities, sports, dance, ballet, swimming, art and crafts, and science activities.
Organized girls to participate in local events including parades, outdoor camps, trips to local, states

for each site. Worked with more than 250 girls, from kindergarten age through 18 years and
involved more than 90 adults and 18 groups in Salinas and South County. Also I was doing
