SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with a variety of embedded software applications for the
automotive industry. Experience with Rational DOORS, C programming, MKS
SCCM tools, Vector CANalyzer and other data acquisition and analysis tools.
Looking for staff level embedded software development position.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
2013: Delphi Automotive, Auburn Hills, MI
Software Engineer - Automotive Door Control Module (DCM).
. Analyze OEM vehicle system function design requirement and design and
write low level software in C language for I/O processing. Test software
on in-circuit emulator.
. Write test vectors and execute black-box unit testing on application
level software modules.
. Experience with IBM Rational Synergy SCCM tool, MATLAB
1998 - 2012: Continental Corporation, Auburn Hills, MI
Controls Software Engineer - automotive antilock braking and stability
control system (ABS/ESC).
. Received a patent (No. US 6,895,357 B2) for Steering Angle Sensor
calibration algorithm.
. Oversee configuration, modification, testing and release of C-language
embedded control software for microprocessor controlled ABS/ESC system.
. Meet and communicate with the customer regularly to discuss requested
software changes, test results, and project schedule.
. Coordinate with several software engineers in multiple countries.
. Modify C-language software on as needed basis. Wrote and bench tested
project-specific software functions such as switches, warning lamps,
buzzer functions and CAN bus signals.
. Work closely with vehicle test engineers participate in vehicle test
trips, both in the US and abroad.
. Experienced with MKS Source Integrity SCCM Tools, Vector CANalyzer and
other proprietary data acquisition tools.
. Write formal bench and vehicle testing orders prior to software release
and review results.
. Release software for production builds.
. Investigate, refer, communicate and track resolution of software issues.
As software project leader, I logged issues in MKS issue tracking system,
assigned them to software and test engineers; reported issues to customer
and helped assess the severity, impact, etc. In some cases, I personally
did the data analysis, and software changes. In other cases, I was
overseeing resolution of issues where other software engineers made
changes.
. Contribute to successful launch of model year '01 through '12 vehicles
from multiple OEM's.
1996 - 1998: Chrysler Engineering, Auburn Hills, MI
Controls Software Contract Engineer - Chrysler's electronic transmission
controller (ETC)
. Review the existing control algorithm design specifications and assembly
language software.
. Convert the control software and data structures from Motorola 68HC16
assembly language to 'C' to allow switch to newer, faster microprocessor
systems as they became available.
. Compare the original assembly code to the C compiled assembly.
. Tested both assembly and C software versions on bench
1988 - 1996: EDS, various locations in southeast, MI
Engineering Systems Engineer - UNIX systems.
. Completed company training program and held various positions at this
large computer services company.
. Completed EDS Engineering Systems Development Program, an intensive 10-
week training course that included MVS PLl1 and UNIX C programming.
. Wrote UNIX scripts for approximately 2 years.
. Managed UNIX computer network at customer site for several engineers for
approximately three years.
. During final two years, processed customer software trouble reports for a
vehicle power train control module (PCM) and initiated PCM software
modification requests and software requirements changes.
. Helped manage a fleet of engineering test vehicles for the group by
updating the PCM software and running quick basic function tests in the
vehicles.
