Career Overview
Ken Battle is the founder of Charleston Communities for Liberty, a community outreach organization. As a retired Air
Force Chief Master Sergeant with 33 years of service, Ken served as the Maintenance Group Chief Enlisted Manager
providing staff support to the 315th Maintenance Group. He provided unit maintenance activities including
contingency, war, mobility planning, budgeting, maintenance planning and manpower. He advised the Maintenance
Group Commander concerning assigned programs. As founder of Charleston Communities for Liberty he is devoted
to the ministry of assisting minority youth find gainful employment. Ken willingly took on numerous speaking
engagements across the state teaching the value of education. A board member of the Summerville Dorchester
Museum he coordinated crowd control and security for the arrival of the “Best Friend of Charleston”, the historic train
replica, built in the 1920s and valued at $750,000, owned by the city of Charleston.
