medical records, pharmacy and all pathology disciplines.

>Acting as a broker part of my role is to gain the best buying price from

suppliers so Midco can achieve a larger margin on the selling price, this

means I have to negotiate between different suppliers to achieve this.

>Working within a sales team of six, my daily tasks include answering the

telephones, dealing with customer queries and questions which rely on a

wide product knowledge and good working relationship with the suppliers to

make sure the customer will get the correct material and suitable product

for their specific departments within the hospitals.

up to 30 quotations per day within a time span of 24 hours to our

customers.

>Checking deliveries have been despatched as promised which is extremely

important in an organisation like the NHS. This not only goes for

deliveries but starts at the top of the chain from the initial quote to the

design and production timescale where a fast turnaround is key and quality

paramount. If this is not met department within the NHS would be forced to

close causing a significant amount of disruption.

>Clerical and Administration duties using Word and Shuttleworth on a daily

>I worked in a small office making appointments for four surveyors on

behalf of major banks and building societies for new mortgage application,

re mortgaging and repossessions.

>This entailed planning routes to maximise the surveyor's valuable time and

to reduce company costs in wasted miles. A lot of typing was incorporated

in to my daily tasks which meant working directly with the surveyors and

also working with tapes dictating the surveyor's valuations.

>I spent a large majority of day on the telephone speaking with customers

arranging suitable times for the surveyors to visit; this could be tricky

especially when it was repossession so a lot of tact and consideration was

required on my part.

>A large amount of patience, understanding and general customer service

skills were required in this role, along with good time management skills.

involved in a lot of general shop floor tasks such a stock rotation, facing

up, replenishing the shelves with shop products, as well as working on the

checkout and the kiosk.

>This role gave me direct contact with customers and is where I built the

foundations of my customer service skills from.

>There was a high volume of customers coming through the checkout and

customer service was extremely important as I was the last point of call

before the customer left the store and my interaction with them could mean

the difference between a good shopping experience and a bad one.
