Engineering Manager

Product Development Engineering Manager for complete vehicle design activities. Design team consisted

of 20 engineers and CAD designers to support the electrical, engine / power train and body & trim

designs. Position responsible for managing design workflow between Sales contracts builds, production

support changes, field service, and new product introduction.

AmTran Corporation (IC Corporation) – Conway, Arkansas 1992 – 2000

Manufacturer of school bus bodies / chassis; currently owned by Navistar.

Engineering Director – New Product Development

Manager of New Product Development Engineering department for new model introduction on all major

corporate programs. Position was responsible for establishing and managing program metrics for concept

designs, documentation and implementation for all current bus models built today; Rear engine, Forward

Control & Conventional buses. Position was responsible for identifying required capital and operating

expense budgets for programs. Design team consisted of 14 engineers, designers, and support staff.

Blue Bird Body Company – Fort Valley, Georgia 1989 – 1992

Manufacturer of Blue Bird brand school and transit buses.

Project Engineer _

Lead engineer for project team of 3 engineers and support designers to install Chevrolet 427-gasoline

engine in the Blue Bird TC 2000 chassis. Responsible for coordinating EPA emission certification

documentation with outside consulting firms.

Personally responsible for accessory belt drive configuration, including new casting brackets, exhaust

system design, motor mounts, frame rails and air intake system, windows, under floor luggage

compartments, battery compartments and body to chassis tie downs.

AmTran Corporation – Conway, Arkansas 1987 – 1989

Manufacturer of the Ward brand school bus bodies. Privately owned until 1990.

Test Engineer

Responsible for structural integrity testing and compliance for all school bus products. Conducted

compliance tests and validated designs to comply with FMVSS standards.

Rol-Lift Corporation – Little Rock, Arkansas 1986 – 1987

Manufacturer of material handling equipment.

Product Engineer

Responsible for the design and testing of hydraulic components for scissor lift tables and vertical material

stacker products for special application sales, conducted on-site field service repairs and wrote technical

specifications for service manuals.
