Summary
As a Printing/Packaging and Maintenance professional, I have a unique background in the
Printing and Packaging industries, in both the production and mechanical fields. I have over
thirteen years of both hands on and management experience. I have expertise in, Dry Offset
Printing, Shrink Sleeving, Silk Screen Printing, Flexo, Digital Ink Jet and Label Application in the
plastic container industry. My strengths are Safety Focus, Team Building, Employee Development,
Pre-Press, Quality Control, Process Improvement Development, Purchasing, Working with
Customers, Machinery Installations, Machine Up-Grades, Preventative Maintenance Procedures
and implementation, Installation of Production Lines and Implementation of Lean Manufacturing. I
have been a Key contributor to the growth of numerous operations by strengthening already
strong operations while preparing them for future growth. I have experience with the following
office systems, Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, JD Edwards, MaintSmart and Kronos. I
am also experienced in, ISO, HACCP, AIB, Six Sigma.

As the Printing and Shrink Sleeving Packaging Manager I focused on Safety, Team Building,
Machine Efficiencies, Employee Development, Quality control, Work with customers, Product
Development, Process Improvement and Development, Machinery Installations, Preventative
Maintenance Procedures. Work with customers and our graphics department to complete
customer proofs. Work with vendors to purchase departmental supplies, inks, blankets, spare
parts for both departments. I coordinated the installation of two new high speed Karlville shrink
sleeving production lines and new Polytype Printers. I was the project leader in the installation of
the new HVAC System for the Plant #2 project. I coordinated the movement and food safety
compliance of the shrink sleeving department from plant #1 to plant #2.

Printing and Printing Maintenance Supervisor
As the Printing Supervisor I also set annual standards, either maintaining or exceeding them
throughout the year. Increasing print quality and lowering scrap rates throughout the year. Work
with customers and our graphics department to complete customer proofs. Work with vendors to
purchase departmental supplies, inks, blankets, spare parts.
I completed a 180 page Technical Training Manual. The manual covers dry off-set printing,
process art, CMYK, art separations, plate making, operational functions of our printing presses,
step by step procedures for completing job / size changes, identifying defects and making the
proper adjustments, Departmental and Plant Safety and Procedures.
With weekly training classes for our technical staff, our machine efficiencies improved 15%
Set-up Printing Presses for Customer Proofs, while working with Graphics and the Customers to
meet and exceed the customer’s expectations.
My responsibilities were also to increase and maintain the reliable of the machinery within the
printing and packaging department. Track machine efficiencies, establishing action plans for the
under achieving machines, coordinate and complete these tasks with all available resources.
Prioritize and schedule all daily work assignments to the maintenance staff.
I set up the preventative maintenance program that encompassed of all machinery associated
within the printing department (dry off-set printers, silkscreen printers, digital ink jet printers, label
applicators, shrink banders, shrink sleevers, conveyors, conveying systems, auto wrappers, auto
box erectors, auto box tapers and all shop tools. This program was established by using the
OEM’s requirements, but tailoring the program to be plant specific, that would suit our
requirements and safety concerns.
I have written, instituted and tracked numerous ISO procedures. These procedures were task and
safety specific. I think that my most important achievement as the head of a department, was
that the printing maintenance department did not have a recordable injury for over 5 yrs.
I was responsible for the training, hiring and evaluations of all the maintenance staff.
I would establish the department’s budget annually. This included, labor, overtime, overhead and
all purchases. These items were tracked either, daily, weekly and discussed monthly at our FIN
review.
I was responsible for all departmental purchases. I would research the replacement component,
request the PO#, order the component, track the component, receive the component, stock the
component into inventory, and issue the component from inventory. Establish min-max levels and
insure FIFO protocol.
I created and completed numerous capex projects. Example: I designed and converted a Van
Dam 560 printer with the feeder system at the 12 o’clock position and Camco Indexer, to a 10:30
position and Heinz Indexer. This machine would only run a 16oz butter bowl at 310ppm. When
completed the machine would run at 500ppm. The ROI was less than 2 months.
