manager for N72 of Surface Warfare Officers School, Newport RI. I submitted my resignation for not
having the necessary computer skills. My job title was training instructor(Navigation) 054**-******. I
was not a training instructor. I wasn’t even a curriculum manager, I became an administrative assistant to
my direct supervisor, which was not the job I was supposed to have.

Worked closely with Public Works personnel (cranes) to come up with a better working relationship that
paved the way for better on time performance while staying up with a very high op tempo of out going
and incoming vessels. Was an emergency harbor pilot and tug master. Worked closely with and made on
time recommendations to Supervisor of Salvage on site personnel and contractors to move over 600 tons
of environmental sensitive underwater detritus. Expertly moved massive contractor barge around the
waterfront saving the NAVY thousands of dollars in contractor tug costs. Primary force behind

Commander Steve Nelson, Commander NAVSPECWARGRU ONE 3632 Guadalcanal Road, San Diego,
CA. 92155 Supervised and trained 12 SEABEE personnel. Recognized the need to utilize existing boat
lifting equipment, implemented a rigorous training program and re-wrote the existing command
instruction to incorporate a category one crane. Networked with Amphibious Construction Battalion One,
Navy Crane Center and other area commands to utilize SBT 12’s Marine Travel Lift. Translated into
savings thousands of dollars by diminishing costly PWC crane service. Totally committed to safety and
rigging training as well as training operators. Attended Naval Crane Safety School-Submarine Base
Portsmouth NH. Worked incredibly long hours in to pre-load MK V boats into amphibious vessel well-
deck when called upon to do something that had not been attempted before. By shipping MK V’s on
vessels instead of by air, the MK V’s arrived with no damage and were floated out on time. Weight
Handling Equipment Coordinator for command. Complete adherence to regulations resulted in zero
findings during a Weight Handling Equipment Audit.
01-200*-**-****-**+hours per working week- USS TARAWA(LHA-1) Captain Jay Bowling Ships
Boatswain, supervised and trained 92 personnel in seamanship, crane operations, rigging, well deck
operations, anchoring, mooring, safety and preventative maintenance. Served as a technical expert to Air
Department who was responsible for the ship’s(40ton) crane. Audited weight test and provided timely
crane operator and rigging training. Safely transferred over 35 million gallons of ship and aircraft fuel and
thousands of pallets of ammunition and food. Single handedly salvaged the Tarawa’s captain’s gig
overseas and then oversaw the repair of it on board. Served as junior officer ship handling training
supervisor. Underway for OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. Made two WESPAC Cruises(6 mons.) each
02-200*-**-****-**+ hours per working week- USS DETRIOT(AOE-4) Captain J. Pitts Replenishment
at Sea Boatswain, Supervised and trained 20 personnel in 4 different job titles. Crane Officer. Trained and
supervised personnel on operation of (30 ton)boat and aircraft On loaded and off loaded over 1500 pallets
of ordnance to other vessels at sea along with hundreds of thousands of barrels of fuel. Supervised the
installation of winch friction clutches and drums and re-packed three ram tension machines that would
normally be a depot level job. Supervised the successful weight testing of 28 pieces of material handling
equipment, four cargo/weapons elevators, a cargo boom, the 30 ton boat and aircraft crane and two boat
davits. Was onboard for a short time because I had a terrible case of appendicitis.
01-199*-**-****-**+ hours per working week-USS KITTY HAWK (CV-63) Captain A. Meyers, Ships
Boatswain,Supervised and trained over 100 personnel . Safely rigged out a 1500 lb vent motor in 3 main
machinery room saving a return to port. Boat and Aircraft Crane Officer for 40 ton crane. Lead rigger and
crane operator. Safely received over 35 million gallons of ship’s fuel and aircraft fuel and 100’s of pallets
of bombs, food and spare parts. Ship received back to back departmental COMNAVAIRPAC efficiency
awards. Had new ladder and small craft fendering system installed on the fantail, saving thousands of
dollars on another type of ladder system proposed. Was transferred to an underway USN minesweeping
vessel that was taking on gallons of water in the their engine room. Quickly taking charge, removed all
water and oil in the engine room, saving the main engine while providing quick training for the ship and
it’s own personnel. Deployed twice for 6 months and 7 months. Only Chief Warrant Officer 2 in Navy to
be early promoted to W-3.
10-199*-**-****-**+ hours per working week-USS AVENGER(MCM-1) Commander Gary Gilleon
Command Senior Chief/First Lieutenant- Supervised and trained 75 personnel. Crane Officer,
Ammunition Accountable Expenditure Officer, Conventional Ordnance Qualification Board Member.
During NATO exercise BLUE HARRIER, was the only ship able to do a successful mine sweeping
exercise. Came up with innovative ways of using 5 ton articulated cranes for boat operations and
receiving food and parts underway. Trained all departmental and engineering personnel on cranes. Twice
had to go under the ship while at sea to cut line and wire out of the propellers and rudders saving
returning to port. Damage Control locker leader, supervised preventative maintenance, deployed for 6
months Promoted to Chief Warrant Officer 2

Captain J. Boland Navy Harbor Pilot. Safely conducted over 525 movements of Naval Vessels, civilian

supervised 50ton truck cranes(hydraulic) and lead rigger on the water front, operator for large forklifts.

Supervised 40 personnel. Crane Officer, Leading Rigger, Qualified to splice wire rope. Due to the ship’s
decommissioning, all inventories were exceptional. Supervised preventative maintenance.
06/-199*-**-****-**+working hours weekly. USS WAXAHACHITE(YTB-814) Captain J. Taylor Naval
Station Pearl Harbor HI. Tug boat captain. Supervised and trained 11 personnel. Operated 100 foot tug
boat, accomplished over 1800 safe tug boat assists to naval vessels leaving and entering Pearl Harbor.
Received special evaluation for qualifying early to be a tug boat captain. Significantly improved the
material condition of the tug boat. Supervised repair to tug boat clutch, air systems and windlass. Had to
rig out and repair main engine blower assembly saving an estimated 40.000 dollars. Called upon to assist
Naval SEA BEES on the island of Kahoolawe HI to assist in operating large truck cranes and heavy
equipment while cleaning the island of un-exploded ordinance. Advanced to Chief Petty Officer (E-7)
05-198*-**-****-**+working hours weekly. USS LEFTWICH (DD-984) Captain Dan Bowler Vessel
assigned to Naval Station Pearl Harbor Leading Petty Officer in division. Supervised and trained 30
personnel. Flight Deck landing signal man, boat operator, deck equipment operator and supervisor.
Preformed and led preventative maintenance. Damage Control Locker Leading Petty Officer
Deployed 4 WESPAC cruises(6 months) each. Promoted to Petty Officer First Class (E-6)
Rejoined US NAVY in May of 1996 as a Second Class Petty Officer(E-5)

Operator- Operated crawler lattice cranes and 50 ton wheeled hydraulic cranes. Used drag line and clam
shell buckets on crawler lattice cranes. Operated heavy trucks and track hoes and 15 ton forklift. Operated
heavy tractors with two trailers. Performed preventative maintenance on heavy equipment.

trained 25 personnel. Lead crane operator on 35 ton ship’s boat and aircraft crane. Lead rigger. Trained

Commander J. Leach Operated 30 ton hydraulic truck crane, 15 ton forklifts and 56 foot boats, lead
rigger. Participated in many search and rescues in the Hawaiian Island areas. One of 4 personnel to build
divisional boat from spare parts and a spare hull to improve underway operational support to Naval
vessels using the range, operated heavy tank trucks and flatbed trucks, performed preventative
maintenance. Promoted to Second Class Petty Officer (E-5)

Operated 50 ton crane, 30 ton crane, 10 ton booms. Rigger for cargo and boat operations. Operated all 4
classes of amphibious boats on board, operated 5 ton forklifts. Assigned to the captain’s boat. The ship
was involved in a collision in March of 1979, assisted greatly with the safe rescue of one of the ship’s
officers who was pinned on the side of the ship. Operated and supervised all ship’s deck equipment.
Supervised and performed preventative maintenance. Deployed once for 6 months.
