PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
JET AVIATION ST. LOUIS, INC., Cahokia, Illinois, 2007-2013
Estimating Specialist Jan 21, 2008 – Oct 15, 2013
Key Responsibilities
Estimate labor and material costing for interior aircraft refurbishment and exterior paint based on customer requests
Plan and organize daily to meet continually shifting priorities and associated project deadlines
Analyze specification, design selections, aircraft information and generate spreadsheets using the data collected from vendors,
production workers, established standards, and history.
Utilizing my proficient excel skills, I built and maintained standards and cost data base
Interface with production manager to develop cost structure for customized design details and modifications.
Organize and chair regularly scheduled internal bid meetings. .
Major Accomplishments
Negotiated fixed fireblocking pricing with the vendor which ensured accurate estimates on upholstery of the seats.
Cross trained into Interior sales to write customer specifications
Cross trained into Maintenance sales to write customer specifications and prepare the bid spreadsheets.
I established Material Cost meetings with production and certification teams to identify opportunities to reduce costs. Of the many cost
savings accomplished, one was a reoccuring annual cost savings of $14K was achieved on seat adhesive.
I developed an estimating database of all common bids which is used across all lines of aircraft. This saved hours of time looking for
historical bid data to use for a current bid.
On a regular basis, I visited the backshops to observe the manufacturing process which ensured alignment of the production bid
estimates and the current work process. In addition, I spent a lot of time in the aircraft learning how individual monuments were
removed and reinstalled in the aircraft.
I established and implemented a process to bid 80% of Fixed Price reconfiguration/modification jobs without the assistance from
production which enabled production to focus on their tasks which resulted in higher labor utilization. The savings earned through
higher utilization due to this new method is perpetual.
