I am currently employed by Tesco Stores Ltd as a Customer Assistant, also working on a management training scheme.

Responsibilities
I am currently employed as a Customer Assistant at a new store in Gateshead. I currently work on Non Food Stock Control, which means day to day counts on stock levels, ordering any unavailable products where possible and finding missing money by assessing which departments are missing the most monetary value and checking those specific areas. I work with customers on a day to day basis and this means that I always have a polite and genial manner, both face to face and over the phone when taking Tesco Direct orders.
Accomplishments
I have been placed back into the Tesco management training scheme known as 'options'. This is an 18 month program which gives all the skills needed to become a successful manager. I have already completed this program with both Tesco and Morrisons respectively, however as I have come back to the company in a non-management role I must complete all necessary training again.

Responsibilities
I was responsible for selling Training Shoes and Sneakers based on customer specific needs, which I would analyse by opening a conversation with potential customers, asking open questions to identify their needs, what they were looking for if for example they were keen runners or played Basketball. I would then 'hook up' the Trainers with another item to ensure that we were maximising on transaction value, and also that the customer was getting a product that would either add an extra level or help to maintain the product they had opted for. I also checked off deliveries and kept the shop and stock rooms in a well organised and tidy fashion.
Accomplishments
We were opening a new store in the Metrocentre, Gateshead. I was top performer for 6 of the 8 weeks i was employed by the company, usually exceeding my target of 10 pairs of shoes per 6 hour shift, and maintaining a multi-buy level of around 70%, with company target being 50%.

Store Manager

I was employed as a store manager, helping to set the store up, order stock and recruit my supervisors and staff. I put in place my own cashing up system which was then used as a model for other stores we opened. I completed all my own training and ran a successful store, with projected sales of 12k-15k a week, and I pushed it on to achieve 18k-23k up to christmas week.

I was acting as stand in for the Night Shift Manager when he resigned 14 weeks before I left the company, which has given me invaluable experience running a fast paced retail team from the top.

My day to day duties included running all aspects of the department during trading hours, leading a team of up to 10 people towards a common goal, which is to provide market leading customer service,
ensuring that we were always spotting potential sales and the possibility of upselling, keeping the department trading legally, and maintaining high level of availability across the stores range.
I also dealt with coaching staff and helping to develop the team from the bottom up, making our team work smarter and more efficiently.
Prior to working as a supervisor I was working in the role of Assistant Nights Duty Manager in the store.
My duties included coaching and managing a team of staff on a day-to-day basis to ensure that the store is ready to trade in all aspects in the morning.
This was a highly pressured job and left me working within strict time constraints regardless of any issues that may occur.
My job wholly consisted of serving our customers, which on nights, involved ensuring we had all the stock on sale for opening at 8am, along with the correct prices, looking at maximizing on availability.
Being a duty manager I was responsible for ensuring full store runs legally and correctly overnight, as well as making sure that all departments are ready for the outlet opening in the morning.
If there are any problems such as absences on any department it is my responsibility to ensure that every section of the business is ready to trade at 8am, as this is our promise to our customers.
I have received exceptionally high levels of customer service training and training in conflict resolution, as well as time management, staff coaching and problem solving training.
These skills have been developed over the previous 24-36 months, and customer service is not only a job but a passion.

I was employed in a small but extremely busy convenience store in Durham City Centre.
I managed a team of eight people and had to ensure thy were all in the right place to benefit the business and maximise on trading success.
The skills I gained in my first appointment with Tesco Stores were put into practice in this role, this included understanding the importance of customer service and satisfaction and the benefits this has to any business.
Health and safety within the store was one of my primary responsibilities being a key holder and a certified first aider.
I dealt with the general public on a daily basis and ensuring that customers were given a high level of customer service and care aiming to achieve 100% customer satisfaction on every visit to the store.
