I am a Merchant Mariner with ** years sea going experience in all engine
room ratings from Oiler through Chief Engineer. I have sailed on a
multitude of vessels ranging from tankers to roll on roll off vessels,
container ships, LASH vessels and passenger vessels. I presently hold a
U.S.C.G. Chief Engineer's License for Steam, Motor or Gas Turbine vessels
of Unlimited Horsepower. I plan to retire from active deep sea service this
year and am seeking employment that will utilize my experience and skills
and allow me to maintain my home in New Hampshire's Lakes Region.
Experience
Chief Engineer Maersk Line ltd. Norfolk Va. - 2005 - 2012
Presently sailing as Chief Engineer of the M.V. Sealand Charger a 50,000
ton container vessel engaged in the Far East trades from the US West Coast.
Responsible for the operation of all machinery and electronics aboard the
vessel. I am also responsible for the scheduling and performance of all
maintenance and repair of the vessel's hull and machinery as well as the
planning and execution of dry dockings and major repairs during the voyage.
Responsible for maintaining the vessel's machinery in compliance with all
U.S.C.G.regulations and A.B.S. class society rules. Responsible for
managing the engine department payroll and maintenance budgets.
Chief engineer / first assistant engineer Central gulf lines, New Orleans,
La. - 1996- 2005
Chief engineer of M.V. Green Cove as well as First Assistant Engineer of
M.V. Green Point. These are 16,000 ton roll on roll off automobile carriers
that are engaged in transporting automobiles and other rolling stock from
Japan to ports all over the world. As Chief Engineer I had responsibility
for the operation and maintenance of the vessels machinery and electronics:
as First Assistant Engineer I was responsible for the direct supervision of
all engine room operation and maintenance as well as managing the engine
department personnel.
First assistant engineer hanseatic shipping company, Cyprus 1994-
1995
First assistant engineer on three different 50,000 ton container ships
overseeing the operation and maintenance of the vessels machinery and the
direct supervision of the engine department personnel.
First assistant engineer Coastal barge corporation - 1993-1994
First assistant aboard the S.S. LASH Atlantico a 46,000 ton barge carrier
responsible for the operation and maintenance of the vessels machinery as
well as the direct supervision of the engine department personnel.

Skills
Maintenance and repair of all shipboard equipment from Main engines,
Auxiliary engines and generators to auxiliary equipment such as pumps
motors, pipes, valves etc. I am a competent welder, machinist and
fabricator. I have good electrical and computer skills, I have experience
with several different preventive maintenance and inventory systems such as
AMOS, SafeNet and Maximo. I have a thorough familiarity with U.S.C.G.
regulations as well as A.B.S. class society regulations.
