MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
1. Instrumental in developing a system to achi eve certification for Boeing's AS9100 certification Advanced Quality System
D1-9000 and was selected in the top 7 out of over 3,700 suppliers for the Boeing's 777 program. Honeywell Aerospace
2. Analyzed, then successfully executed, a plan to improve our quality rating with McDonnell Douglas from unsatisfactory
to excellent in three months; this postured Grimes Aerospace to bid and win new proposals. Grimes Honeywell Aerospace
3. Was elected to start-up and manage quality and operations for Grimes new avionics displays & measurement business.
An Aerospace unit that successfully shipped over 10 million dollars in their first year of business. ADC/Aerospace
4. Created, implemented and directed the Defect Prevention/Corrective Action Program utilizing proven SQC/SPC techniques
and Mil/ ANSI sampling plans. Fostered the in -process and final product audit functions for greater quality awareness.
5. Involved with the Supplier Certification and Product Conformance Program. Also, involved with surveys and audits b oth
internally and externally. AS9100C (or AS9100 2009) quality management standard for the aviation, space & defenses.
6. Developed and was Chairman of the Quality Improvement Team which involved various committee members from all
disciplines and levels of management to discuss issues relating to process material. Key Performance Indicators KPI’s used.
7. Initialized the Quality Information System which identified in -process quality levels that was used to develop a Cost of
Quality System. Monitor, improve and oversee QMS policies and procedures. Investigate and report customer issues.
8. Designed a failure reporting system using SPC with Dbase IV to access LAN data and developed advanced Lotus macros
to quickly identify problems areas in process for cost savings. Corrective/Preventive Action Systems to verify effectiveness.
9. Networked and developed over 30 relational database applications networking over 250 LAN users including marketing,
engineering, quality, manufacturing, purchasing, and other func tional departments. This included integrating different
programs using GUI, OLE, DDE, and ODBC for military, aerospace, automotive, transportation and chemical industries.
10. Invented and Obtained a Patent # 5,986,576 on a Remote Controlled Traffic Sign al System, involving analog, digital,
RF, master/ slave micro controller communication design with embedded programming with measurement control devices.
11. Created a new startup business IST, secured over $250K in investment seed capital, grew business to $5mil total sales.
12. Directed and lead our startup company IST International through lean manufacturing and Department of Transportation
3rd party certification ISO9000 quality management system that was needed to sell into the DOT. Developed several
patentable products and technologies for our company to the Military, Airlines, and Department of Transportation DOT.
