paper deficiencies and 1 type 1 physical plant in a 90 year old
hospital. Satisfied IDPH CMS
2008 deficiency requirements removing 144 K tags. Raised HCAP
from 40th percentile to 84th
percentile in 8 months by improving patient satisfaction in food service,
Environmental Services and
physical comfort and aesthetics of the facility. Member of over 12
committees and Chair of EOC
Committee. Promoted to full Vice President from AVP in July 2011.
01/08 to 11/07/2009 Vista Health System
Lake County IL
Director of Facilities and
Engineering for Vista Health System: consisting of Vista East Medical
Center, Vista West Medical
Center, Vista Surgery center and all off site clinics. This constitutes
two separately licensed and
JCAHO accredited hospitals and one fully accredited Surgery Center.
The Vista System consists of
over a million square feet of medical space under environmental control
Over 100 acres of property to
manage. Responsibilities include plant operations, maintenance,
grounds, property management and
leasing and safety officer. Chair the space allocation and
EOC committees. Responsibilities
also included participation on other multi-disciplinary
committees such as PI/QI, IC,
Master Facility Planning and Construction. Responsible for a 3.7M
Operating budget, 1.6M capital
budget and 14 M construction budget.
Major Accomplishments: built and
occupied a state of the Art ICU (Vista East) under budget and
on time, reduced the facility
management department by 10% and increased patient satisfaction
to the 79th percentile and
employee satisfaction by 9%. Added revenue to the facility through leasing
agreements with the Lake County
Health department and Abbott Laboratories. Successfully completed
3, JCAHO accreditation surveys
in the last 1 years with no RFI's at 2 sites and 1 EC related FRFI at
Vista West, each hospital was
over 100 years old. The document reviews at all surveys were flawless.
