EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
November 2011 to December 2013
Car Sales Executive – Motorpoint.
My duties included meeting and greeting customers as they came into the showroom.
Ascertaining their needs and then showing them suitable cars, payment and service plan
options and then arranging collection and delivery. My monthly target for this was 25 cars
(delivered) per month. I achieved these targets consistently and can provide documented
proof of my performance.
November 2006 to August 2010 – SHERRIF AMENITY SUPPLIES
I worked for SHERRIF AMENITY as a self employed ‘Sales Agent’ covering the South of
Scotland. My main task was to attract new clients and business for the company which had
just moved into the territory. My customer base included local authority, private golf clubs,
racecourses and horticultural nurseries and involved identifying and closing new business
May 2005 to Nov 2006 - Stewarts Turf
I was employed as the West of Scotland Sales Representative for Stewarts Turf. In this role I
sold an extensive range of amenity products to an established company account. The range
of product included - Turf, Top-Dressing, Fertiliser, Pesticide, Groundcare and Contracting
Services, Enviro-Care pick up and disposal service for used oils and pesticide containers.
In this role I reversed a declining turnover from £190,000 to £320,000. I did this by taking a
pro-active approach to finding new business and by up-selling to existing customers.
March 1996 to May 2005 - Retail Nursery Owner
During this period I worked self employed and operated a town centre retail nursery in
Troon. I was responsible for all staffing matters, purchase ordering, merchandising, stock
rotation, book keeping and banking. I sold seasonal bedding plants, Christmas trees, pottery
and ceramics, trees and shrubs. I was a distributor for Rolawn Turf and for Rowlinson
Garden Chalets.
March 1995 - March 1996 - Golf Course Manager / Bavaria-Fixed Term
I directed and trained a local workforce in the daily and seasonal maintenance of a
championship golf course in Bavaria, Germany.
February 1990 - January 1995 - Grounds Superintendent/Stowe School
I was the departmental manager for Stowe School in Buckingham. I was responsible for
upgrading the condition and maintenance practices for the schools sports grounds and formal
garden areas. I managed a staff of fifteen gardeners and grounds men and was responsible
for managing the departments budget, staff employment and training.
May 1987 - March 1990 - Deputy Head Groundsman/Barclays Bank Sports ground,
Ealing.
Duties included assisting the Head Grounds man in the preparation and maintenance of this
multi sports complex which included Football, Rugby, Lawn Tennis, Cricket.
