Experience Summary: The following table lists experience vs. employers.
Experience
Andritz Separation Arlington, TX
Controls Project Engineer Aug. 2013 -Oct. 2013
Design Control systems for Andritz's separation equipment for
their customers.
Factory testing of these systems.
The controls project engineering includes equipment electrical
drawing design, PLC programming, program debugging, scheduling,
system description, operational description, O&M documents and
field startup support.
Customers are spread throughout the US and internationally
I2R (Integrity Integration Plano, TX
Resources) May 2013 - July 2013
Contract Controls Engineer
Provided field service to industrial customers for
commissioning, functionality and documentation.
Factory testing of control panels.
Generated ISA data sheets for instruments.
Made needed changes in customer's PLC programs.
Customers included Frito-Lay, Starbucks, City of Midland, TX,
SkyVenture, Bunge Oils, etc.
Traveled both in the US and internationally.
Trinity River Authority Dallas, TX
Chief Electronics Specialist August 2008 - September 2012
Updating O&M manuals for PLC equipment on plant. This includes
reconstructing PLC code, combining the current code with tags
and headers and restoring I/O lists only available in print
form. Many of these documents have markups that must be
included before the updated program is printed and included in
the manual.
Designing PLC applications to replace antiquated systems. This
includes designing the hardware using Modicon Premium
equipment.
Built DFBs (Derived Function Blocks) that were used to run
functions such as sequencing, RTC sync, signal conditioning,
and analog board testing on PLCs.
Texas Instruments Dallas, TX
Applications Specialist June, 2000 - July,2008
Wrote a chapter in Op Amps for Everyone defining op amp
parameters.
Writing articles on technical topics for analog applications
and design utilities. Some of the articles are application
notes that are posted in TI's web site and articles in TI's
Analog Application Journal.
Designing analog applications and writing Design tools to allow
other designers to generate practical designs. An example
powerful tool is called FilterPro for Windows. It allows the
analog designer to generate an active low-pass or high-pass
filter design of up to 10 poles or a band-pass or notch filter
design of up to 5 poles. Another example is a utility for
designing a single ended to fully-differential circuit with
input termination called Fully Differential Op Amp Gain
Calculator.
Assisting other developers with a program for designing
switching supply application circuits called SwitcherPro.
Generating user's manuals for opamp EVM boards.
Qualifying nearly 400 SPICE models developed using PSPICE for
another SPICE simulator called Tina.
Submitted content to Wikopedia defining fully differential
opamps and simulation software.
Belco Industries, Inc. Belding, MI
Contract Engineer Feb., 2000 - June, 2000
Writing PLC programs, Intellution I-FIX applications and
utilities for rapid development of PLC programs.
Writing VBA software used to develop a standardized importable
I/O list and addressing that could be imported into a PLC
program.
Autodie International Inc. Grand Rapids, MI
Controls Engineer Dec., 1998 - Feb., 2000
Automated equipment designed to manufacture large automotive
parts.
Writing PLC programs, and utilities for rapid development of
PLC programs
Developing VBA applications written for Excel and AutoLisp
applications written for AutoCAD.
Prime Technology Inc. Grand Rapids, MI

requisitions, and software changes (parameters and ladders for
CNC machines.)
Rapistan Systems, Inc., Grand Rapids, MI
Systems Engineering Aug., 1997 - June, 1998
Generating project documents such as specifications, drawings,
bills of material, schedules and status reports. Delivered
information to the customer. Managed projects on field sites.
This included startup, commissioning, performance testing and
standby.
