Dear Potential Employer:
I am a recent graduate from Stevenson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Biotechnology. With my degree, I want to apply skills in the laboratory and perform product
development. Ultimately, I would like to find a cure for numerous diseases and go onto medical
school and become a doctor. A research opportunity would give me experience and allow me to
gain experience in a field that I am extremely interested in and I am eager to learn more about
the medical aspects of the biotechnology world.
A strong candidate for this position is knowledgeable of the biotechnology industry, able to work
in a team and individually and highly motivated to work hard. Because of the numerous
biotechnology courses I have taken, I have gained knowledge on the biotechnology industry and
the process it takes for products to pass quality assurance. During my time at Stevenson
University, I have taken courses like advance techniques of molecular biology. This course is a
prime example of my abilities to work in a team while also working individually because of the
independent group project that was conducted throughout the semester. The product was on the
cloning and mutation analysis of Anti-Mullerian hormone receptor, type II (AMHR2).
Teamwork was essential for this experiment in order for the primers of each exon to be designed,
cloned, and sequenced. Teamwork is valuable because if one piece is not completed, then the
experiment, or product, is more likely to be incorrect or have errors that could be avoided. As an
employee and student, I am extremely motivated to complete tasks on time and to the best of my
abilities.
These are some of the characteristics I have and will use to make a successful contribution to this
position. In conclusion, I would be a great opportunity if I was chosen to be a part of this
research and I would greatly appreciate the opportunity. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely
Jasmine Kennedy
