Maintained, analyzed, and interpreted supplier quality data. Timely
reported to the MRB the Quality Metrics and delivery performance of
supplier base. Presented to MRB the supplier quality and reliability
requirements and recommended action plan. Liaison between Supplier Reps,
Purchasing, Material Management, Design and Engineering.
Documented procedures and developed inspection and sampling plans. Analyzed
defective parts and performed root cause analysis. Communicated quality
problems to the MRB and supplier reps. Directed supplier products audits
to assure conformance to the agreed quality standards. Reported audit
findings to MRB, issued corrective actions and follow up.
Coordinated appropriate countermeasures and prevention procedures. Lead
supplier efforts to implement quality processes to achieve or exceed

Lead the Reading, PA. factory to its initial certification. Experience in

Responsible for ongoing compliance that included maintenance of policies,
procedures, and practices. Planned and coordinated audits. Corrective
action and follow up. Member of the AT&T ISO 9001 Audit Team.
Team Leader:
Technical Supervisor for the Maintenance Department. Supervised CWA labor
union represented maintenance mechanics. Major duties included equipment
installation, prove-in, maintenance, repair, construction and retrofits.
Developed and coordinated preventive maintenance and calibration/metrology,
work order/traveler programs. Coached and mentored the maintenance
department on several cost reduction projects that resulted in net savings
of $1.8M.
Group Leader for the Lightwave Quality Engineers:
Trained newly hired engineers on Quality Control methods and applications.
Coordinated periodic meetings of the group for sharing ideas and for
maintaining consistency within the group on resolving general quality
issues.

Experience in quality plan development, statistical process control, design
of experiment, statistical analysis, etc. Developed internal fiber-optic
quality standards for the areas where industry standards were unavailable.
Experience in developing and presenting QI Story and PQMI. Introduced plant-
wide Process Quality Improvement Team concepts. Developed and instructed
coursed on Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process Capability Index (Six

reliability undersea fiber-optic product lines. Applies Just-in-Time
manufacturing, MRP, MPS, CPR, inventory Control, Floor Plan Layout, cycle
time reduction, etc. Utilized computer-based tools for modeling
(simulation), scheduling, and planning. Improved workplace organization.
New Product Introduction:
Participate in new product development activity for quality improvement and
manufacturability and operational readiness through Quality Function
Deployment, Design Review, Product Control Plans, Best Industrial
Practices, and Capability Analysis. Supported Bell Labs designers in
designing products that were quality driven, easy to manufacture, and
robust in performance.
Developed and ensured that product instructions and product changes were
implemented with minimal issues by using Product Change Management process.
