Serves as Geospatial Research, Analysis, and Services Program (GRASP) subject matter expert; consults
on groundwater, surface water, storm water, air, and soil testing and sampling to ATSDR Health Assessors
on National Priority List Sites, Superfund Sites, and any other sites deemed hazardous to the public’s health
Utilizes and integrates GIS technology to address and present a wide and varied set of public health issues
in the areas of disease prevalence and dispersion, environmental determinants of disease, community
health, public health informatics, and emergency preparedness/response

February 2011 – August 2012
Hodges, Harbin, Newberry, & Tribble, Inc., Macon, Georgia
Environmental Scientist / GIS Development / Analyst
Singlehandedly initiated, developed, and implemented the use of interactive Geographic Information
Systems (GIS) mapping systems into industrial waste management, disaster r elief, and mining applications.
This development includes the pre-emptive review of potential site development, site monitoring and
maintenance, and future predictors of land development and design
W orked closely with Federal, State, and local governments in the aftermath of the 2011 tornados in
Tuscaloosa, AL and Joplin, MO to permit temporary storage sites and emergency landfill sites to except
storm debris. Also looked at landfills waste streams near disaster center for determ ining expectance of
storm debris
Consulted with clients to develop tailored interactive GIS maps to improve daily monitoring, and operations
for landfills and surface mines and other facilities and land development with permits, pictures, plans, and
sampling data embedded in attributes and databases
Established quality control standards and procedures; provides training and mentorship to other engineers
and environmental scientists to improve standardization of GIS implementation and ensure best practices,
including conversion of AutoCAD designs into GIS shapefile or geodatabase
Interpret and effectively communicate environmental standards, rules, and regulations pertaining to
organizational processes, facilities management, and equipment maintenance to ensure client compliance
with local, state, and federal agencies, including review of relevant draft permits, NPRMs (Notice of
Proposed Rule Making), and other proposed permitting in order to anticipate changes in industry practice
and adapt and initiate new protocols to ensure clien t compliance with updated regulations
Maintained and tracked permit compliance for landfills and surface mines in 9 states, including NC, SC, GA,
FL, AL, MS, VA, MO, TX. Additional familiarity with regulatory standards in Guam, C ayman Islands, and
Puerto Rico
Reviewed groundwater, surface water, methane, leachate, air, petroleum storage, hazardous waste storage
and generation, and NPDES monitoring/compliance data for submission of results to loca l, state, and
federal agencies
Prepared Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SP3), Environmental Monitoring Plans, and Spill
Prevention, Control Countermeasures Plans (SPCC), EPCRA/Tier II reports, RCRA Reports, and facility
due diligence.
Used GIS to develop Fatal Flaw maps to determine appropriate areas for site development based on siting
restrictions from local ordinances, municipal zoning restrictions, and state an d Federal rules and regulations
July 2009 – August 2010
Eagle Point Golf Club, Birmingham, Alabama

Planned, coordinated, and instructed comprehensive, environmental science, algebra, and physical science
academic curricula in addition to sustainability, landscaping and teambuilding electives
Spearheaded the formation of a staff “Green Committee” to incorporate sustainable initiatives throughout
the school community; served as committee head
Varsity Soccer Coach, Junior Varsity Basketball Head Coach, Varsity Baseball Head Coach
Aquatic Environmental Services, Inc., Ball Ground, Georgia March 2007- July 2007
