Responsible for all aspects of technology at Capital Financial Group
• Directed the design and enterprise rollout of "MyCFG" web based SQL application to provide for the
ability for 1300 plus field staff to update and modify data for 220,000 client accounts with $12 billion
of assets under management in compliance with SEC 17a-3 Books and Records mandates for the
broker dealer while maintaining client privacy.
• Selected and implemented scanning and indexing platform the EMC OTG Xtender suite of products
including AppXtender, ScanXtender, WebXtender, EmailXtender. Includes WORM storage of over 2
million documents and 17million images with over 2 Terabytes of data in compliance with FINRA
"paperless office” and Email archive and retrieval requirements.
• Selected and coordinated the implementation of SAAS SMARSH email and archival surveillance
WORM compliant platform for rep force of over 1500 email addresses to assure compliance with
Security and Exchange Commission(SEC) 17a-4 books and records retention regulatory mandates.
Virtual Compliance Manager allows compliance staff to use keyword lexicons to flag and log
suspicious or unlawful email correspondence between representatives and investors.
• Oversees and manages all day to day IT functions including help desk, and IT infrastructure
personnel to ensure the highest level of service to associates.
• Selected and implemented large 180KW natural gas power generator to provide emergency power to
company datacenter and AC, back office and AC, and all electricity for entire company. Worked with
GC for competitive bidding and implementation.
• Designed and Implemented VMware EXSi 5.0 virtual environment to provide redundancy and
replication of critical applications and data to Equinix colocation servers to assure business continuity.
Involved the near real-time replication of web server, SQL authentication server with redundant
physical servers, switches and firewalls. Saved of $50,000 in using new virtual storage in VMware.
• Introduced multi-site encrypted high definition video conferencing in support of CFG recruiting
efforts using LifeSize video equipment while maintaining bandwidth and security control.
• Developed detailed corporate Business Continuity Plan (BCP) that includes multiple short term and
long term disaster scenarios to maintain key business functions. Power outage, water main break and
complete destruction of corporate headquarters are addressed. Detailed steps and processes for
evacuation of emergency personnel to alternative emergency location are documented.
• Selected SunGard Onboard platform to provide higher levels of business processing efficiencies.
Evaluated competing platforms Caesar, BDS, Xtiva, and FetterLogic to arrive at decision after a year of
comparative analysis. Provided vision for integration with the commission processing system and
surveillance platforms for a unified overall enterprise platform.
• Successfully directed multiple IT contractors and staff for the move of the datacenter and all
workstations, routers, switches, firewalls, servers, telephone PBX for this mid sized $100 million
company from previous headquarters in Rockville, MD in December 2011 to present location in
Bethesda, MD over one weekend. Over 95% of all systems were ready on following Monday for
normal operation.
• Routinely directed the update of legacy Foxpro for DOS commission HBIFS application to
accommodate changing regulatory mandates. Engaged in design requirements for .net based
replacement platform.
• Manages IT staff for various projects for 12 Windows 2003 Servers and 120+ workstations and
laptops. Servers include MS Exchange 2003 Standard and Enterprise, MS SQL Servers, Captaris
Rightfax, Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES), IIS Web Servers, OTG ApplicationXtender Scan and
Index,EmailXtender Email Archive, ESXi VMware servers.
• Oversees local area network and wide area network infrastructure. Including SonicWall and Cisco
firewalls HP Managed Switches, T1, PRI, MPLS and VPN connections to remote locations. Manages
third party vendors for completion of ongoing projects.
• Managed multiple security implementation projects include SQL Encryptionizer to protect client
data, Exchange TLS, Symantec SMTP Gateway, GFI Email Security, Symantec Endpoint Protection,
SonicWall content filtering, antimalware/ anti spyware.
• Selected and project managed the implementation of the Inter-Tel5000 PBX with 100+ IP and digital
endpoints for local and wide area network use. . 2 PRI Verizon Connections. Multiple departmental
voicemail and hunt group configurations. Unified messaging with Exchange Server. Automated weekly
email reports to department managers containing call activity by extension.
OAISYS call recording and contact center management system provides immediate access to past
digital "watermarked" recordings. Oversaw the training of all employees for new system.
• Manages multiple corporate CRM projects. Including development of a complex contact hierarchy
that controls enterprise wode entitlements to a number of web based online applications for over 1500
users. Provides for granular control over viewing rights and functions for such platforms as Albridge,
RegEd, SunGard Onboard, Envestnet, and Investigo. Makes use of seamless sign-on throughcorporate
web portal. Multiple secure nightly FTP routines transmit hierarchy to
these platforms to achieve this. Greatly reduces staff time and costs by controlling all entitlements from
one single location. Integrates with online survey to online users to streamline entitlements.
